Xiamen Haicang District Hotels

After spending our first night on Gulangyu Island, we had originally planned to leave Xiamen the following day after sightseeing. However, an urgent matter came up, and by the time we finished dealing with it, it was almost 11 PM. We made a rather last-minute decision to stay another night, so I quickly searched online and found this hotel with an impressive 4.7 rating. Its opening in 2017 was another plus, suggesting the interiors wouldn't be too dated. After reviewing the hotel's photos and services, we were particularly attracted by the pool, which the kids would love, and the choice of sea view or mountain view rooms. We promptly booked online. Upon check-in, we could call the front desk to request disposable bath liners, kids' bathrobes, and toiletries. Soaking in the spacious bathtub was incredibly refreshing for both children and adults. Enjoying a few cups of Gongfu tea afterwards was simply delightful, and the tea set was a thoughtful touch that perfectly catered to our Chaoshan tea preferences. During our stay, an unexpected situation arose. The night concierge, whom we'd added on WeChat during check-in, provided incredibly prompt assistance. A big thumbs up to the hotel's management! I'd also like to commend the on-duty concierge and manager for their professionalism and efficient problem-solving. This hotel truly met my expectations for this Xiamen trip. I would definitely choose it again and recommend it to friends and family.

This is my second stay at Wyndham Xiamen this year. The views are lovely, both day and night. Even with the typhoon, the sea breeze was pleasantly cool. The location is incredibly convenient; it's just a short walk to the ferry terminal. From there, you can catch a ferry to Gulangyu Island for ¥35. I, however, opted for the ferry to Xiamen Island's First Pier, which is only ¥2 and departs hourly. The underground parking garage offers EV charging. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool for a while. As it was the summer holiday, there were quite a few families with children staying.

The front desk lady Kiana is very gentle and patient. She upgraded the sea view room for free and prepared small gifts for us. The room is comfortable and tidy. I like it.

The first stop of 2025 was Xiamen, and the first night was Courtyard by Marriott. Manager Lin, the front desk guy, worked hard and quickly got me the room card. When he knew we were traveling on a special day, he immediately helped us upgrade the room and sent us breakfast coupons. I like this hotel and the front desk manager Lin for their care. The room was clean and hygienic, the bedding was good and it was easy to fall asleep, the sound insulation was also very good, and I slept sweetly all night. The cleaner would say ”hello” to the guests. I called the front desk to get a razor 🪒 and it was delivered quickly. There were many varieties of breakfast and they tasted good. The overall feeling was great, and I gave it a five-star rating.

The chess competition was held at Gulangwan Hotel, and it was very convenient to stay here with children to participate in the competition. We originally booked a family room, but because the family room was not in the same building as the competition venue, the front desk changed the room for us. The new room is adjacent to the competition venue, so children can go directly back to the room to rest after each round of competition, which is much more comfortable than waiting in the lobby. The decoration is a bit old-fashioned, but the hygiene is good. The toilet door was broken and not repaired. Hope it can be improved.

He went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcomed and taken care of throughout my visit. His exceptional customer service skills made a lasting impression on me, and I greatly appreciate his efforts in making my stay enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a quiet and smoke-free environment, along with exceptional hospitality from staff members like Eric. It's a true gem for those looking for a peaceful retreat.
