Liuyue Sea View Hotel made for a great family stay. The restaurant was great and it was so close to the beach where the kids could play. Be sure to plan ahead as the hotel is over 1 km from Sanqiu Wharf, and there are no cars on the island. Fortunately, on the way back we were able to hop on a shuttle for 10 yuan per person so we did not have to worry about walking so far with our luggage. There are so many beautiful sights to see on the island. I highly recommend Liuyue Sea View Hotel and would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

I was not familiar with Gulangyu Island at all. I contacted the hotel staff (later I learned that it was the hotel manager). The hotel manager patiently told us how to transfer from Xiamen High-speed Railway Station to Gulangyu Metro Ferry, etc., and picked us up at the ferry port. It was after 8 pm when we arrived at Gulangyu Island, and it was still raining heavily. The hotel manager waited at the ferry port for more than 30 minutes (touched). It is a 120-year-old villa with a sense of age and a story in the room. You can imagine or let go of everything here! We stayed for a total of 3 nights. After the reservation was successful, the housekeeper contacted me as soon as possible and sent a detailed ferry terminal, time and route to the homestay. The service was superb! After checking in, he also recommended food and scenic spots on the island, which was very nice! The breakfast provided by the homestay is nutritious and healthy. We chose a twin room, and the room was not crowded for a family of three with a child. The room was clean, tidy, bright and spacious. 🏠 It was very close to the snack street. Because I was in a hurry to catch the night ferry, I booked an inn close to Sanqiutan Pier. Still very pleasantly surprised, I feel the price/performance ratio is very high! First, the store took the initiative to contact me and reminded me of the ferry time, so that I could catch an earlier ferry and avoid waiting for another 40 minutes. The store also personally went to the pier to pick me up, helped with my luggage, and upgraded me to a larger room. Second, the inn is very close to the pier, less than 200 meters away, just a little uphill, passing the most beautiful corner, and close to tourist attractions. There is an alley outside the inn wall, and it is very touching to see tourists walking by from the window. Third, the inn is an old building, a nice small building, but it has been newly renovated. The exterior and the rooms are very clean, and the wooden beds and doors are pleasing to the eye. The decoration is simple and elegant, quite tasteful. The bedding and toiletries are very good.
