Property Description
During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, around 200 years ago, the old residence of Yang Ziji, then governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, was transformed into a high-end museum homestay. The house is a unique green brick and wood structure in Guangxi. It is located on the bank of the Huangbu Reflection River, the most beautiful scenic spot in Yangshuo, and covers an area of 1800 square meters. Famous designers worked hard to build it, and completed it after two years of repair and renovation, while preserving the original style and layout of the house. The quadrangle courtyard is divided into a front courtyard, a middle courtyard, a back courtyard, and a middle hall Zuwu Museum and Laowu Bar. The village is known as Yangjia Village for its descendants of the Yang family.

Fantastic place, we slept in the renovated traditional building with courtyard. Wonderful spacious rooms with a superb bathroom including a Japanese toilet and bath tube. There's also a very nice cafe where to get a welcome tea and delicious snacks, and a modern area with more rooms and swimming pool where they serve dinner and a Chinese breakfast. It's a five minutes walk from the river and ca. 15/20 minutes away by taxi from the Yangshuo speed train railway station (we got a free ride there in the morning). Yangshuo is ca. 45 minutes away.

Lovely vibe, beautiful scenery. Breakfast was different each time and yummy. Hotel pick up and drop off was good. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool, pond, little play area, giant bathtub. The staff were also very nice and helpful, helped book tickets for the San Liu Jie show as well as recommending places to go.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Each morning, the breakfast featured a fixed menu with a delightful variety of noodle and dumpling soups. If you’re looking for a change from Chinese cuisine, the bar offers some great Western options. The pool is beautifully situated against a backdrop of mountains, and our room was lovely! Just a heads-up: there were a few mosquitoes in our room, though we're not sure how they got in since we were careful with the door. The receptionist can assist you with renting a scooter. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and the location is very close to the ancient town. Highly recommended! :)

We had a great stay at the Governor’s Mansion. The hotel is in a fantastic location—close to the charming village of Xingping and the river, yet completely surrounded by nature with unbeatable views of the karst mountains. It felt remote and peaceful, as if we were truly outdoors, while still being near the town.
The rooms were spacious, tidy, and beautifully decorated with lots of wood and glass, giving the place a warm and modern feel. The hotel is equipped with all modern facilities and truly has everything you need.
A special thanks to the extremely helpful, friendly, and pleasant staff. They arranged day trips, taxis, and scooters for us, and were very flexible when our itinerary changed. They also gave great advice on what to do in the area.
We would definitely come again and recommend the Governor’s Mansion to everyone!

Such a delight ! We have the best stay and food.
On the day arrived we were arriving late and planning to go into town for food. But then when we arrived the hotel we decided to stay for the food because the lovely environment and the smell from the restaurant.
The staffs are super lovely and helpful too.
Our recommendation to you is to stay and rent an electronic scooter.
On the back of the hotel there is a hidden spot that you can have a wonderful view of the mountains and river with the least of crowds.
