Hotel JAL City Kannai Yokohama

We booked a standard room, and both the room size and amenities are quite good for a Japanese hotel. It's just a few minutes' walk to Chinatown and the nearby stadium, making it very convenient. The only minor downside was trying the hotel's buffet breakfast for an extra 2,800 yen—the dishes felt pretty average.

This hotel offers incredible value for money. The rooms are quite spacious for Japan, and there's a lounge available from 2 PM to 9 PM with complimentary drinks and snacks, including wine. It's really pleasant to unwind in the lobby after a long day of sightseeing, munching on some dried fruits and sipping a glass of wine. We booked a twin room, and for some reason, the two beds were pushed together. Perhaps it makes the room appear larger. The hotel doesn't provide shower caps among its amenities, so if you usually use one, remember to bring your own. The hotel is within walking distance of the Red Brick Warehouse, and Yokohama Chinatown is just a few minutes' walk away. The Minatomirai Line is about a 5-minute walk, and JR stations are roughly 10 minutes on foot. Overall, the location is extremely convenient.

Rarely have I had such an experience. The toilet would make a thunderous booming sound as soon as you sat on it, which was absolutely terrifying and lasted for an unbearably long time. With such old facilities, it's definitely time for an upgrade.

The hotel doesn't have many facilities, so it's only suitable for a short stay. The location is excellent, very close to Chinatown, just a 5-minute walk away. The restaurant is quite small, and there's almost always a queue for breakfast.

Initially, I was given an old, smoky room on the 8th floor. After discussing it with the front desk, they moved me to a larger, newer room on the 2nd floor. When I checked out, the front desk proactively asked about the smoky smell in the previous room. The duvet in the room was a bit thin; it wasn't quite enough when the AC was set low. Ms. Nishimura at the front desk was incredibly helpful; she assisted me with the forms to ship my luggage directly to my hotel in Tokyo, which was super convenient. The service was excellent. While it's true the hotel itself shows its age, JAL's human touch and care are truly commendable. The hotel is about a 6-minute walk from the nearest Minatomirai station. There are two convenience stores, 7-Eleven and Lawson, nearby. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Yokohama.

This is my second stay here, and it's just as convenient and clean as before, with friendly service at the front desk. It's only a 5-minute walk to Yokohama Chinatown and the subway station. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Yokohama.

Really good! It's in a super convenient location, making it easy to get anywhere. Yokohama is such a comfortable city, and I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. They even offer complimentary drinks and snacks, which is a nice touch.
