The Sampo Tay Jin Temple in Tangerang was 'found' by accident when a wide-eyed search for the location of the Boen San Bio Temple suddenly bumped into a temple's nameplate. Out of curiosity, I entered the alley on Jl. Otto Iskandar Dinata, Tangerang, Banten. The alley to enter Sampo Tay Jin Temple is rather narrow and only enough for one car, and vehicles must be parked at a workshop owned by the owner of the temple, which is only a few meters from the location of the temple. Tay Jin Shampoo is the name for Admiral Cheng Ho. Seen from the outside, Tay Jin Sampo Temple looks like it's wedged between buildings. However, a number of ornaments make this temple look beautiful and stand out. At the top of the wuwungan there is a decoration of a pair of green dragons fighting for mustika. Underneath it is a pair of Hong birds, and above the gate is a pair of golden fish. The terrace of the Tay Jin Sampo Temple is decorated with beautiful golden dragon ornaments encircling a pillar and a beautiful hong bird on another pillar, flanking a golden hiolo Thian (God of Heaven) carved with a dragon. Hiolo Thian is always placed at the front and usually on a three-legged anvil. A pair of lion statues (Cioksay) were also seen guarding the door of Tay Jin Sampo Temple. The male lion on the left plays ball, and the lioness on the right plays with his cubs. Two large candles were placed next to each lion. A woman was sitting casually on the right side of the terrace when I arrived. He is apparently the son of the founder of this temple.
