China Nanzhu Museum

The Beihai Nanzhu Museum is one of the 26 key projects of the Silk Road cultural industry by the Ministry of Culture in 2015. The exhibition hall covers an area of more than 2,600 square meters and is the first museum in the country that is themed on Nanzhu culture and open to the public. The Nanzhu Museum is a museum that focuses on the spirit of Nanzhu, follows the history of Nanzhu as the main thread, and uses Nanzhu culture as the background. It witnesses the six legends of 'the essence of the sea', 'the spiritual totem of three thousand years', 'the magical pearl', 'royal favor', 'the brilliance of Nanzhu', and 'meticulous carving', and has become an important window for tracing the three-thousand-year culture of Nanzhu and reflecting the rise and fall of Nanzhu. The museum uses historical figures' silicone statues, marine life models, marine biological specimens, Nanzhu processing utensils, and historical image documents of Nanzhu to depict the three-thousand-year history of Nanzhu culture in detail. The museum's collection includes China's largest natural seawater pearl 'King of Nanzhu', the 'Crown of the Sea' Nanzhu cultural exhibit from the Shanghai World Expo, and a Ming dynasty pearl dragon robe inlaid with 50,000 Nanzhu pearls.
