Zichron Ya’akov a little gem in Israel 🇮🇱

Zichron Ya’akov is a town in Israel, located at the southern end of the Carmel mountain range overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, near the coastal highway (Highway 2). It was founded in 1882 by 100 Jewish pioneers from Romania, members of the Hibbat Zion movement, and named in honor of James Mayer de Rothschild, the father of Baron Edmond James de Rothschild, who became the patron of the settlement in 1883. The town has a population of 23,857 as of 2021. Zichron Ya’akov is known for its beautiful views, historic architecture, and wineries. The Ohel Ya’akov Synagogue, named after Baron Edmond James de Rothschild’s father, is a notable landmark in the town. #hiddengems
