Access is a 1-minute walk from the south exit of Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, a 7-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the Subway Kuko Line, and a 4-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station on the Subway Nanakuma Line. Rakusuien/Hakata Wall 2-10-7 Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. Access: 9 minutes on foot from Hakata Station. In 1906, Hakata merchant Shimozawa Zen'emon Chikamasa built his Sumiyoshi villa on the site, which was used as the Rakusuiso Inn after the war, and in 1995 Fukuoka City opened it as a Japanese garden with a pond and a stroll around the area. What is a Hakata Wall? When Toyotomi Hideyoshi rebuilt the city of Hakata after the war (Taikomachiwari), this earthen wall was built around shrines, temples, and the mansions of wealthy merchants. It was made by solidifying burnt stones and roofing tiles burned by war with clay. Former Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Kihinkan An important cultural property building located at 6-29 Nishinakasu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture (inside Tenjin Central Park). It is said to be made of wood, but it is a Western-style building that doesn't look like it is made of wood at all. It is an 8-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway Kuko Line, and the inside is open to the public and various events are held there.
