Lesser-Known Vacation in Hainan | Haikou Marriott Hotel

Compared to Sanya, Haikou always seems undisturbed. Not only because its beaches are not as good as Sanya's, but also the number of sunny days and the color of the sea fall short of Sanya. Most people probably wouldn't choose Haikou for a vacation unless they are taking advantage of cheaper flights to transfer to Sanya. It can be considered an overlooked vacation spot. In such a place, there is a hotel with Chinese-style design, the Haikou Marriott Resort, which I particularly favor. 🏨Hotel Introduction Marriott has four hotels in Haikou, two at Mission Hills: The Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance; one near the Yundong Library: The Westin; and one on the West Coast: Marriott. Compared to the prestigious elegance of The Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance, and the business-forward style of The Westin, the West Coast Marriott upholds Chinese elegance and is a place for family joy. 🛏Room Introduction The hotel is very generous. During the May Day period, the basic room was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite, This room type has very clear pros and cons. The advantage is that it's big, especially suitable for families with children. The downside is that the sea view is very poor. Relatively speaking, upgrading to a family sea view room would be a superior choice. The room also adheres to Chinese design, with round lanterns, square lanterns as the main light sources, and screens designed as partitions between the bedroom and living room. Of course, the washroom is still in a modern minimalist style, without a bathtub, etc. This combination of designs is not only convenient for practical use but also reflects the hotel's cultural dedication. 📝Public Area Introduction The hotel's public area is very large, with a large lawn in the middle as a divider, the left side designed with small bridges over flowing water, pavilions, and towers. The 'flowing water' of the small bridges serves as a children's swimming pool channel, with a water depth designed at 1.3m, convenient for children to play in the water. Pavilions and towers serve as rest areas and hot spring zones, where a family can play and rest quite contentedly. On the right side, there is a 1.6m deep adult swimming pool. Square flower beds are built in the middle of the pool to plant trees for shade. The hotel also has a bamboo forest, which is quite ancient in style. 🍲Dining Introduction The hotel's breakfast can be said to have the largest selection of Chinese dishes among all the hotels I have stayed in. Tofu pudding, spicy oil noodles, Peking duck, freshly fried dough sticks, 24 kinds of porridge side dishes, and even rice noodle rolls in steaming baskets have made it to the breakfast stage... Making a fried egg, it's stuffed with one or two shrimp inside, and there are also pickled pineapples with millet chili, pears, etc. Common dishes like freshly fried crispy meat, roasted sweet potatoes, and roasted chicken are standard. It can be said that the hotel is quite dedicated when it comes to Chinese breakfast. The hotel also has a lounge, no big dishes, but roasted suckling pig, steamed dumplings, fried fish pieces are available. There's also ice cream, the kids' favorite, thoroughly implementing the family vacation concept. ❤Scenic Highlights The location of the hotel allows for viewing both the sunrise and sunset, with warships cruising nearby, offering a full visual experience. The happiest thing was that on the evening I arrived at the hotel, I saw a 🌈! That must have been a very lucky moment. Compared to Haikou, the Haikou Marriott should be considered a quite excellent resort hotel.
