Neither of us are rich, but we think that going out to find new experiences in life will make us love each other more. Because in the big wide world, there are only the two of us. So to speak, this time we set off for Hanoi, Vietnam. Actually, this was the second city we had visited because we had already visited Nha Trang. But a new city must be considered a new way of life again. This time we traveled by VietJet airline, landing directly in Hanoi. We were a bit excited when we left because the housekeeper's E-SIM card was not working yet, which caused some internet issues. Luckily, the Vietnamese people had excellent English. We could communicate easily. This made it easy for us to find the car we had booked to take us to the hotel. The car we booked took us to the Church Hotel. At first, we were surprised. What kind of hotel is called a church? But when we arrived, we suddenly understood... because our hotel is very close to the church, less than thirty steps away. The housekeeper, who is crazy about glass art, was overjoyed. We took a while to pack our things. Before heading out for dinner, we headed to the lake in the heart of the city. What’s amazing is that Vietnamese people exercise a lot. Seriously. When we walked to find dinner, it was already around 7 PM, but there were still uncles and aunties seriously jogging. No wonder we were the only two fat people in the city. Oh no! Our first meal ended at a very mysterious rooftop restaurant. You have to tell the staff and they will press the elevator for you. The food we ate was traditional Vietnamese food that was very very very delicious. It was really delicious. And not because I was hungry, so I made a note that the food here is not bland. 555+++ And anyway, the cost of living is very cheap and comfortable. On the way back, we walked back as usual, stopping here and there, looking at this and that. But I could only make notes because it was already dark. However, the housekeeper already got a souvenir Starbucks cup. No journey is as enjoyable as traveling with someone you love. Hehe. The weather was cool and refreshing, with a light drizzle, so it wasn't too hot. We started with breakfast at the hotel, which offered a wide selection of food, including Vietnamese and Western dishes, as well as a salad bar. The butler was delighted with the beef pho, while the housekeeper was delighted with the wide selection of fruit juices. Oh, how happy we were! After we were ready for our trip, we headed to our first destination: the church we'd been eyeing the day before. After admiring the stained glass art and the peaceful atmosphere, we continued our journey. We headed to a coffee shop, as per the housekeeper's delicious map. It was a cute cafe that even taught us how to make coffee using the Phin method, a Vietnamese drip method. We ordered coffee and sipped it while observing the town, the people, and the Vietnamese way of life. The waffles were also delicious. If you're following the butler, we highly recommend stopping by. After our coffee, we wandered around Hanoi. A miraculous sight occurred: we found a Michelin-starred restaurant on the side of the road. It was literally right on the sidewalk, right next to the sidewalk. So, without further ado, we popped in for a bite. It was like fried pork with vegetables and a tangy dipping sauce. I must apologize for not eating it very correctly. I had to secretly watch the table next to me to see how they ate and then eat along with me. 555+++ Before coming here, the housekeeper was already a big fan of Vietnamese food. But when she got to eat the real thing, she had to say that it was very delicious. The flavor was very rich and the vegetables were given in abundance. So much so that just the vegetables alone would fill her up. Coupled with the fact that people in the city love to exercise, there is only one fat person in the whole city: the housekeeper. T^T After that, we headed to find coffee again. Yes, if you come to Vietnam, you definitely can’t avoid coffee. This second shop is probably a famous Vietnamese franchise coffee shop because you can see the same name every 500 meters. This time, the housekeeper ordered custard egg coffee made from condensed milk. It was very sweet. After drinking it, she had the energy to continue walking. The highlight of the day was in the evening. We were going to see water puppets, a unique traditional Vietnamese performance. So before going to watch it in the evening, we stopped to recharge at a Hainanese Chicken Rice shop. This chicken rice was fragrant with herbs, more like biryani. It was delicious again. The water puppet show was amazing. It’s hard to describe because the actors must have trained very hard. Especially the singer who played Vietnamese traditional instruments. This was a very magnificent sound. And the performance that lasted about an hour, there was never a boring moment. It was like time flowed to end the day at a Chinese dim sum restaurant because we wanted to eat something light. But in the end, it turned out to be another delicious meal.
