Japan's Sengoku Pilgrimage Site: Kenkun Shrine Dedicated to Oda Nobunaga

Kenkun Shrine, one of the few shrines in Kyoto dedicated to Oda Nobunaga, is located in Funaokayama Park in the Nishijin area of northern Kyoto. Situated on a small hill, visitors need to climb a flight of stairs to reach it. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Daimonji Mountain and Mount Hiei. Kenkun Shrine primarily enshrines Oda Nobunaga, with his son Oda Nobutada also worshipped here. Other deities include Uka-no-Mitama-no-Okami, Kuninotokotachi-no-Okami, Sarutahiko-no-Okami, and the spirit fox of Funaokayama. Fans of Japan's Sengoku period history can come and pay their respects.
