The Infamous Santa Monica, Los Angeles

Santa Monica is an iconic beachside town in Los Angeles, California. It is famous for being the setting for countless films, tv shows and music videos - you will definitely recognize the ferris wheel at the end of the pier. Santa Monica has plenty of shops and restaurants and a cute little old town, it has a more relaxed vibe compared to other shopping areas of Los Angeles and is a lot more pedestrianized. Moving towards the coast Santa Monica has one of the longest and cleanest beaches in the county and the water is calm enough for swimming and relaxing. If you look up the coast you can see as far as Malibu to the north and the Airport to the south. There is also the famous pier which is the western start / terminus of the famous route 66, you will see the road signs along the end of the pier. There are lots of amusements, cafes and snack shops and of course the ferris wheel! It’s a good spot to head to at different times of the day, it’s quieter in the morning for sure but the night with everything lit up makes it so special so worth checking out both times to feel the different vibes. #timetotravel #trip #beachlife #california #losangeles #santamonica #usa
