I had waited for a long time, having passed by Lijiang countless times before, always wanting to save this place for later! Perhaps it became a kind of obsession, and finally, in 2023, I made it. The scenery is beautiful, with a wonderful implication, and the Mosuo culture is fascinating. 📍Lugu Lake (located at the border between Yunnan and Sichuan) 🚗After arriving in Lijiang by plane or high-speed train, you can choose to join a short tour group, rent a car for a self-drive, or hire a car to go to Lugu Lake. The journey is quite long, nearly 180 kilometers, and it takes about four hours, mostly on mountain roads! ⏰Day1 Departing from Lijiang city in the morning, it's already noon by the time you reach Lugu Lake 1️⃣Lugu Lake Viewing Platform P13 You can have a distant view of the panoramic Lugu Lake, the real scene is very beautiful, but it's not easy to take good photos, and it's not very photogenic; 2️⃣Lover's Beach P12 Shallow beach, the lake water is super clear, there is a tree by the lake, very photogenic; 3️⃣Lige Peninsula Known as 'Lover's Tears', you can take overhead shots of the 🧡lake surface P4, and there are colorful prayer flags on the right side of the lake, which make for good photos! P1 4️⃣Goddess Mountain Round trip by cable car, after the cable car ride, you still need to climb stairs, so it's not recommended for the elderly, children, or those who do not wish to climb stairs. There is a small cave at the top of the mountain, and you can have a dynamic overlook of the panoramic view of Lugu Lake from a higher point when descending by cable car; 5️⃣Pig Trough Boat at the dock P6, 11 It's very sunny on clear days, but once you get to the middle of the lake, the water is super clear and very open! If you want to experience rowing, you can ask the boatman to try it out! 😌Take a walk by the lake at the guesthouse, watch the sunset at the small dock, and then enjoy a dazzling dinner🍽️! 🏠Accommodation: Stay in a scenic room by the lake in Mukua Village within Sichuan territory, with a path right below leading to Lugu Lake, and a large patch of marigolds by the roadside. The hotel room faces southeast, so you can watch the sunrise over the lake from your room the next morning🌞 ⏰Day2 6️⃣Goddess Bay P3 The Goddess Bay is very quiet in the early morning, with trees by the lake and colorful pig trough boats, you can take photos freely! 7️⃣Walking Marriage Bridge P2, 5 The place where Mosuo young men and women pledge their lifelong commitment, couples and spouses can walk hand in hand across the Walking Marriage Bridge, symbolizing everlasting love! 8️⃣Flower Sea Dock P7, 8, 9, 10 I was lucky to see the waterborne poplar flowers covering the lake surface when I went there in September. The roots are very long, growing in the water, and the flowers float on the surface, drifting with the wind! If you want to see the waterborne poplar flowers, be sure to go between May and October. The flowering period is magical, blooming in the morning and fading in the afternoon, so remember to reserve the morning time for boating to the Flower Sea Dock to see the flowers! 👏Half-day trip ends ⚠️Tips: 1️⃣Be sure to check the weather forecast in advance, the experience varies greatly with the weather! 2️⃣There is no public transportation around the lake, mostly self-driving, chartered cars, carpooling, or cycling! 3️⃣Considering the lighting conditions, it is recommended to travel around the lake counterclockwise, the view from the left side of the car is better! 4️⃣Sun protection, sun protection, sun protection, say it three times because it's important!
