The Osaka W Hotel, designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando, is captivating with its massive black exterior. The overall design concept of the hotel is full of fun, hiding colorful interior decorations under the minimalist exterior design, which is a tribute to the Edo period. The Osaka W Hotel, which opened on March 16, 2021, was designed by the local architectural team Nikken and Tadao Ando, and invited the Dutch design firm Concrete to preside over the interior space. In the confluence of Eastern and Western cultures, a new image of the W Hotel is created. The 27-story building stands on the bustling streets of the city, and the building facade designed by Ando is as dark and reflective as a giant stone, presenting a cold that keeps people away, but no one thought that the hotel's heart would be so brilliant and unrestrained. Osaka has always had many labels such as "City of Water" and "Romantic Sakura City". At the entrance of the hotel, it points out its identity to the guests. The pink tunnel is composed of more than 3,000 laser-cut circles, like a boulevard composed of cherry blossom trees in spring, leading tourists to an abstract Osaka world. The hotel's 337 rooms and suites, under the careful planning of the designer, cleverly built 2 'faces' that can freely switch between day and night for the rooms. The simple beauty of circles, points, and spheres in space. The circular art drawn in one stroke, and the polka dot pattern obsessed by the avant-garde contemporary artist Yavoi Kusama, are all sources of design inspiration. The circular oversized bathtub made of metal material stirs the neon lights in the space together, facing the skyline outlined by modern city buildings.
