Introducing 5 Local Favorite Restaurants in Osaka!

I'll introduce you to 4 restaurants that are hard to find on Google and are frequented by locals, not so much by Koreans. I almost exclusively visit local restaurants when I'm in Osaka. 1. Umeda Sushi Sakaba Teppei They have an English menu, and if you say you're a foreigner, they'll give you one. It's located in the White Umeda underground, and it's a standing bar style. They make sushi on the spot when you order and are very friendly. Especially, I had the Teppei Special Maki, which is sushi with four pieces topped with caviar, tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe... It's expensive, but it was a delicious sushi restaurant! Also, I recommend the strawberry parfait at a cafe called Silkream in the Hankyu Umeda underground. 2. Umeda CHEESE MEAT GARDEN They offer a variety of courses, but I chose the 2980 yen course, which allows you to order all the beef dishes. You can enjoy as much beef as you want, including steak, 30cm yukhoe sushi, and roast beef. The downside is that the food takes a while to come out. I initially ordered one by one, but the food was so late that I ended up ordering three types of steak at once. I was able to make a reservation on Google in advance, which made me feel more at ease due to the restaurant's popularity. The staff only introduces the restaurant at the beginning, and once you choose your course, you can order using a QR code on the table, just like in China, which is very easy! I hope this feature becomes more widespread! 3. Arashiyama Yoshimura This is a soba restaurant with a view of the Arashiyama riverbank. You can't make reservations here, only wait on-site, and it's popular. I went there at 12:20 PM, and they told me to come back in 40 minutes, so I went at 1 PM! Maybe because I was alone, I was lucky to get a window seat on the second floor overlooking the riverbank. I ordered the Arashiyama Zen, which comes with two types of soba... You can choose between hot or cold soba. But I chose both cold, and I kind of wish I had tried each one separately. But! It was so delicious. I want to go again when I visit Kyoto! 4. Umeda Onyasai Onyasai is a chain, but here you can also order a course that allows you to order for 90 minutes, an all-you-can-eat style. I went for both the all-you-can-eat and the all-you-can-drink soft drinks, and I ordered shabu-shabu and sukiyaki. It's really delicious... I always go here. I didn't take a picture of the dessert, but the desserts are delicious, and the staff is friendly. It might look like I didn't order much, but I ordered 10 plates of meat and a lot of vegetables. They have cheese, and it's really delicious when you melt it with the meat. The downside is that you can only order two at a time. Also, Onyasai doesn't have a wide variety of vegetables... I like eating vegetables, so that was a bit disappointing. 5. Namba Wagyu Idaten This is a Wagyu beef bowl restaurant in Namba. I went there for lunch, and I had to wait about 10 minutes because the restaurant isn't very big. First of all, the staff is incredibly friendly. There are many dishes with Wagyu beef, and I remember ordering the Wagyu steak bowl. There was a staff member who reopened the menu to show how to eat after the food arrived, and another who came over to teach in Korean. There was a foreign couple next to me, and a staff member offered to take a commemorative photo for them, which looked really nice. And the food is so delicious. The sauce is tasty, the meat is good, and the pickles are to my taste. There's also a method of eating with chili oil, which is delicious! I hope everyone visits when they're in Namba ❤️
