Lower your expectations for Pisa, half a day is more than enough

The Leaning Tower, Pisa Cathedral, and the Monumental Cemetery, including their museums, are all together and one ticket covers them all (though scheduling to climb the tower is hardly worth it and quite expensive). The scenery is beautiful, but even half an hour can be tiring. The frescoes in the cemetery are indeed spectacular, especially the three depicting The Triumph of Death related to the Black Plague. However, the rest are severely damaged. The museum doesn't have much to offer either. The city is small, and I also visited the National Museum by the river, which houses the city's artifacts. It has some substance (works by Masaccio, Francesco, Ghirlandaio, and a masterpiece by Martini, as well as art from the 12th-14th centuries), but it doesn't take much time to see. Overall, the city doesn't have much to make one want to stay.
