The Donghuachi Tower in Huachi, Gansu

The Donghuachi Tower is an octagonal seven-story pavilion-style brick tower from the Song Dynasty, standing 26 meters tall with each side of the tower measuring 3.29 meters wide. The eaves of the tower feature imitation wood bracket sets and carved brick rafters, and the top is adorned with a gourd-shaped finial. The brick surface is decorated with patterns such as clouds, galloping deer, flying phoenixes, and fierce tigers, and the tower's structure is largely well-preserved. It is an important physical material for the study of Song Dynasty architectural art. On June 25, 2001, the Donghuachi Tower was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as a key national cultural relic protected site, as part of the fifth batch.
