It’s all about the history of farming and countryside life in England — from vintage tools and tractors to stories from real people who lived it. The space is modern, peaceful, and full of little details that bring rural history to life. I especially enjoyed the old diaries and quirky farm inventions. It’s free to visit, and you can easily spend an hour or two soaking in the quiet charm. If you’re looking for something different in Reading, MERL is a lovely and unexpected stop.
