Japanese traditional Shirakawago village

#fallishere We stopped here for 2 hours on the way from Kanazawa to Takayama. We spent 3hrs walking up and down the area which i think was the appropriate time for us. We visited Kanda House. There's 4 floors to explore and it was well worth the 400 yen to experience the inside of one of the Gassho houses. It's set up as museum so there's lots of historical artefacts to look at. Plus great views from the upper floors. Found crystal clear fresh water hole over the bridge and there were fair few shops, cafes & souvenirs. We took heaps of photos and enjoyed some ice-creams. Shirakawago is a fascinating place to visit if you're in the area!
