Suzhou Free Parks for Kids: Five Tips for Wuzhong Swan Lake Park

Continuing our exploration of free kid-friendly destinations, this time we've arrived at Swan Lake Park in the Wuzhong Taihu New City. Overall, it lives up to its reputation as a free, fun place for kids. _ ✅️About Parking (See the last image for guidance) If you navigate directly to Swan Lake Park, you'll find an underground parking lot, which is not free. However, if you want free parking, continue driving along the road. There are free marked parking spaces along the roadside. Don't park randomly on other roadside areas; we saw police officers issuing tickets during our visit. _ ✅️About the Park Swan Lake Park is a new park in Taihu New City. It's located near the headquarters of the Municipal Hospital and some schools. Suzhou Bay Central Plaza is just a few hundred meters away. Currently, the surrounding area is still relatively undeveloped. The park is divided into two sections, east and west, connected by a rainbow bridge. _ ✅️About Activities This is what we were most interested in. Here's how you can enjoy the park: On the west side of the rainbow bridge, there's a fire safety-themed park with a simple sand play area, some fire safety equipment for kids to explore, and an elevated walkway for strolling. The east side of the rainbow bridge is the main play area: slides, swings, spinners, arched gates, climbing walls, etc., are all located here. However, there's currently only one swing, which feels a bit lacking. The slides are definitely the highlight, with numerous options in different styles. The main attraction is definitely the slides. _ ✅️Tips for Visiting During this season, there aren't many flowers blooming here, except for a few plum blossoms. The park mainly features green spaces and children's play areas, so it's recommended for camping, relaxation, and taking kids out. Setting up a tent or taking a walk are good options. For lunch, you can order takeout, which is quite convenient. We ordered takeout and milk tea during our visit, and the delivery was pretty fast. _ ⭐️Other Notes The Muli subway station is right at the park entrance, so public transportation is quite convenient. It's diagonally across from Exit 3. The greenery here is a bit sparse, so be sure to take sun protection measures.
