Fairmont Orchid - Hawaii

#thingstodo Unbelievable hotel, the staff were amazing. First off the food was amazing with several fantastic dining venues. The buffet breakfast was outstanding and our favourite was Brown's Beach House, an amazing menu - the food was amazing, possibly one of the best meals I've ever had which was only rivalled by the most spectacular view of the ocean. We have a toddler who can be a handful sometimes but between the staff, amazing food for kids and massive pool our little one was entertained and easy to handle the whole time and I can't thank the hotel staff or chef's enough for that as tired parents who seriously needed a vacation (and got one). The beach is amazing and perfectly calm when other beaches were very rough with waves. We spent the last afternoon of our trip to the big island at Fairmont Orchid's Spa Without Walls where we booked the couples massage by the waterfall. The resort itself is gorgeous. Walking through the general areas on the way to the spa, you would have to be blind to not notice each and every meticulously maintained detail and that's just the interior! From nearly anywhere we stood, we could survey the breathtaking view. This was not the resort where we actually stayed during our trip but it's on the list for next time. As if the location, view and common areas weren't awesome enough, the spa is a CAN'T MISS amenity here. Spacious but cozy, very well maintained and restocked, relaxing but inviting atmosphere and the employees were very friendly and helpful. Both of our massage therapists did a wonderful job making us comfortable and everything was perfect for us. The only thing I was less than "over-the-moon" about was leaving.
