When you think of Tokyo, you probably think of Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Asakusa, but Suginami Ward also has wonderful temples and shrines where you can relax. It is also famous as a city where it is easy to live. Here are some recommended temples and shrines in the city! ! ① Umabashi Inari Shrine (photos 1-5) A shrine located in a residential area a little outside of Asagaya's shopping district⛩️ It is a 10-minute walk from Asagaya Station. This historic shrine was built in the Kamakura period. The highlight is the dragon torii gate. It has a very cool appearance with a rising dragon carved on the left and a descending dragon carved on the right. It is said that touching this dragon will improve your luck🐉 On the way to the shrine, there are three torii gates and the Zuishinmon gate. At the Zuishinmon gate, there is a large bell🛎️ for good luck, which can only be rung on January 4th! There are foxes lined up in the shrine building. You can put a piece of paper with your wish written on it inside and place the fox inside 🦊 ② Omiya Hachiman Shrine (photos 6-8) This shrine is located just under a 10-minute walk from Nishi-Eifuku Station on the Keio Inokashira Line ⛩️ The grounds are quite large, and it is said to be a shrine with a long history of 1,000 years. This shrine is located about 5 minutes north of Asagaya Station. It has a calm atmosphere, and many people hold their weddings here. We especially recommend the lace bracelets called Kamimusubi.
