Chengdu Surroundings: Embark on a spontaneous snow mountain trip

- Life shouldn't be filled with too much hesitation, even if you're a cautious person, occasionally you need to be a bit more adventurous, right? - Friends in Sichuan and Chongqing can rush to Ha'erbin (it seems to be banned now) and it's totally possible to go there and back in one day. Moreover, the mountain's difficulty level is quite OK for beginners, but it's important to note that you must have trekking poles and crampons, otherwise you'll end up like me with a lightly bruised butt. - Below is the list of supplies I brought (for reference only): Upper body: Light shell jacket & thermal underwear & down jacket (practice has proven that a set of thick shell jacket plus thermal underwear is more convenient) Lower body: Long johns & functional pants (it's better to wear waterproof pants!) Shoes: High-top leather boots (it's recommended to wear high-top waterproof shoes, there's a lot of snow and mud!) Food: Warm water, Shaqima, small bread, chocolate (I originally prepared enough for two meals, but ended up not eating much, however, it's still recommended to bring more in case of emergencies) Equipment: Trekking poles, sunglasses, cold hat, gloves (it's advised to also bring snow gaiters to prevent snow from getting into your shoes)
