So far, the most enchanting holiday island city has finally been discovered🏙️ Wenling in Taizhou, with its grottoes, islands, colorful fishing villages, and ancient streets and walls, has fulfilled all my beautiful expectations of the Jiangnan region❗️ 🚄Transport: Take the high-speed train to Wenling Station, where public transportation is convenient, and taxis are quick to respond and affordable. 🌟Itinerary D1: Wenling Station—Changyu Dongtian—Shitang Town—Xiaoruo Village—Qilin Mountain D2: Duijie Viewing Platform—Hotel Rest/Wenling Seaside Greenway—Shuitongdai Beach/Pearl Beach D3: Mosquito Beach Wharf—Sansuan Island D4: Jiaojiang Garden Vegetable Market—Dachen Island D5: Ziyang Street—Prefecture City Wall—Return trip 🌟 Attractions 1️⃣Changyu Dongtian⛰️ This is a severely underrated attraction. Since ancient times, it has been a quarry, and after being hollowed out, the interior is full of various shapes, truly a work of man that seems naturally formed. There are giant grotto Buddha statues, displays of the history of quarrying, and adorable giant pandas. You can also enjoy boating, water play, and the pleasure of cooling off in the summer. 2️⃣Xiaoruo Village🌈 Known as the 'Chinese version of Italy's Cinque Terre', it once won the title of China's most beautiful fishing village. The ancient colorful stone houses, rainbow stairs, and the harbor filled with boats⛵️, and from the top of Qilin Mountain opposite, you can watch the stunning sunset. 3️⃣Duijie Viewing Platform💍 Known as the Eastern Cape of Good Hope👀 Be sure to choose a sunny day to visit, when the azure sea is intoxicating. The huge double-ring-shaped viewing platform, named 'Duijie Viewing Platform' because of its shape like a pair of rings, is dazzling with golden light at sunset, and romantically beautiful when lit up at night. Facing the sea from the mountain, it is an excellent place for couples to stroll. 4️⃣Sansuan Island🏖️ An isolated island paradise, with ancient stone houses, azure sky trenches, giant rocks, and black sand beaches like those in Iceland. This is a very special and niche attraction, where you can experience the island scenery of Iceland without leaving the country! 5️⃣Jinsha Beach/Shuitongdai Beach Choose one of the two; I went to Jinsha Beach, which is closer to my accommodation. Shuitongdai Beach is known as the 'Mount Fuji on the sea'. Go to Jinsha Beach early, or the sun will soon be gone. 6️⃣Ziyang Street A characteristic old street with many ancient buildings, suitable for eating and strolling. The Taizhou Prefecture City Wall is nearby. Find a favorite small shop, taste some snacks, rest for a while, very comfortable. 🍜Food Recommended: Qian Cake (cheaper and delicious outside the scenic area), Qing Cake is very authentic, Shanfenyuan is similar to sweet glutinous rice balls, Pao Shrimp is average. The locally recommended (Zhangyuan Cooking) has delicious eel soup, fried glutinous rice with eggs, and noodle knot soup are all good. 🏠Accommodation Recommended to stay in Shitang Town, where attractions are concentrated, accommodation options are abundant, covering different price ranges, a variety of design styles, and by the mountains and water, you can always find something to your liking. The homestay I chose was very quiet, with a full atmosphere of lawn, floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened, and the Duijie Viewing Platform can be seen from the room.
