The most beautiful Wuzhen

Wuzhen Town, originally named Wudun, belongs to Tongxiang City, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, and is located in the 'Golden Triangle' of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, in the hinterland of the Hangjiahu Plain. The water system within Wuzhen belongs to the Taihu Lake basin, with rivers crisscrossing, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal passing by the town. Historically, Wuzhen was divided by the Shi River into two towns: Wuzhen to the west of the river, under the jurisdiction of Wucheng County, Huzhou Prefecture; and Qingzhen to the east, under the jurisdiction of Tongxiang County, Jiaxing Prefecture. After the liberation, Wuzhen Town to the west of the Shi River was assigned to Tongxiang County, and since then it has been collectively referred to as Wuzhen Town. Wuzhen Town has a civilization history of over 7,000 years and a history of town establishment of 1,300 years. It is a typical ancient water town in the south of the Yangtze River in China, and is known as a famous historical and cultural town, with the reputation of 'Land of Fish and Rice, Home of Silk'. Wuzhen Ancient Town is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, known as 'China's last pillow-water household'. Since 2013, it has hosted the Wuzhen Theatre Festival; and since 2014, it has become the permanent venue for the World Internet Conference.
