"The Jue River" ("Jue" is pronounced "yù" in standard Mandarin, but as an ancient river name in Xi'an, it is pronounced "jué") is a tributary of the Feng River, part of the Yellow River system, and is one of the "Eight Rivers surrounding Chang'an," earning it the moniker "Xi'an's Seine River." It originates from Dayu, at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains in Chang'an District, Xi'an City, with a total length of 64.2 kilometers.
