Xuzhou's ancient-style new landmark debuts during the May Day holiday

📍 Located in Xuzhou Kuai Zai Ting Park, with a profound history and rich cultural atmosphere, Kuai Zai Ting is the 'soul' of the park and one of the iconic buildings of Xuzhou! The renovation project is now in its final stages, with plans to open during the May Day period, showcasing the ancient Song dynasty style of Kuai Zai Ting soon! 🏘️ Kuai Zai Ting is situated in the southeast corner of Kuai Zai Ting Park, facing south and north. It is an elevated, independent building complex with white walls, gray tiles, and chestnut-colored doors. The 'Kuai Zai' inscription written by the great literary figure Su Shi is powerfully and elegantly displayed above the gatehouse. 🏗️ Flanked by galleries on both the east and west sides, Kuai Zai Ting is well-proportioned. The most striking feature of the renovated Kuai Zai Ting is the top part inside the pavilion, where chestnut-colored, square solid wood beams are placed at the top. Four old qiang (corner beams) meet at the cylindrical Lei Gong column, penetrating the roof and serving to reinforce the beam frame and support the treasure top, giving the entire top a feeling of solidity and grandeur. 🐦‍🔥 At each corner of the eaves of Kuai Zai Ting, there are 4 sculptures of different shapes, lined up in a row, totaling 8 sets, ranging from the outermost immortal riding a phoenix, to phoenixes, horses, etc. On the sunny corners of the gallery roofs, 6 dragon water-absorbing ridges have been added. The sculptures on the eaves of Kuai Zai Ting and the ridge beasts on the Jing Su Hall are all original features. An important aspect of ancient building restoration is to 'repair the old as old,' strictly adhering to traditional materials and techniques, combined with modern technology for restoration, reinforcement, and replication, to ensure the historical appearance of Kuai Zai Ting is completely restored. The patterns on the blue tiles at the top are custom-made according to the Song dynasty style, and the chestnut-colored spray paint chosen is more corrosion-resistant, further highlighting the original appearance of the ancient building. 🌳 The floor tiles used in the courtyard of Kuai Zai Ting are all handmade gray antique gold bricks. To preserve the historical appearance of Kuai Zai Ting to the greatest extent, the original tall and lush ginkgo trees, white pines, magnolias, and plane trees in the courtyard have been preserved, and additional species such as Japanese maple, red maple, podocarpus, banana plants, and green bamboo have been added... Visitors can enjoy the ancient architecture while also experiencing the lush greenery. Kuai Zai Ting is the urban memory of the thousand-year-old city of Xuzhou, and its old stories and new life continue to overlap and pass down through time!
