T'way Air became the first domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) to launch a European route, officially ushering in the era of long-haul flights starting in May 2025. The flight I boarded was a B777-300ER, imported from Korean Air. As a former Cathay Pacific aircraft, the seating arrangement and atmosphere exuded a premium feel. I was thrilled by the spaciousness, cozy lighting, and luxurious seats that were visible as soon as I boarded the plane. ✨ ⸻ 🍽 In-flight meal review – The food was pretty good too! • For my first meal, I had a Western-style meal with a Korean twist: chop steak, mashed potatoes, butter beans, and carrots. The meat was quite tender and the portions were just right, so I was very satisfied. • For snack time, I had a choice of ramen (Shin Ramyun Black), dumplings, and fish cake balls. I chose the dumplings. The dumplings were served warm and delicious. • For drinks, I had a cola, sweet! It was a little disappointing that it was only served once per meal, but it still paired well with the in-flight meal. • The second meal was a breakfast-style meal, featuring an omelet, sausage, baked beans, and hash browns. It was a satisfying and filling ending to the meal. (They also added a vegetarian option, since they'd changed it.) (It's been a while since I last traveled, so I'm writing this post. It's located in the Eomgi Alley. 📍Cafe Soseuljae Incheon Address: 1st Floor, 65 Manui-gol-ro 195beon-gil, Namdong-gu, Incheon Hours: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily It's a relatively new place, but it's bustling. Perhaps that's why it feels like a hot spot!!! There's no dedicated parking, so you'll have to use the Soraesan public parking lot!! This cafe has high ceilings, so it never feels cramped!! I loved the wide selection of bakeries and coffees. The cafe has floor-to-ceiling windows, so it's a great place with a great view!! There's plenty of outdoor seating, but it was so hot that I had to stay indoors. ㅠㅠㅠ Be sure to check out the exotic outdoor terrace. You absolutely must visit this cafe!!

When I used to live in Jamsil, I didn't realize it, but after relocating to a different region, I found it inconvenient to use Incheon Airport. This time, I had an early morning flight to the U.S., and since train or bus schedules were not ideal, I decided to come up the day before and stay overnight at a hotel. Atmosphere/Facilities: The ratio of Korean to foreign guests seemed to be about 80:20. Many guests appeared to be staying for an early departure or a late arrival. I booked a slightly larger room, which had a big bed, a small bed, and even a sofa! The bathtub was great, and the triangular mountain-view terrace was truly delightful. Key Points: 1. Reasonable Price Since it was just a one-night stay, I avoided overly expensive accommodations, partly because I didn't want my parents to comment on the cost! Nest Hotel offered a good balance of price and quality. 2. Satisfying Breakfast Perhaps because it's a popular spot for those arriving or departing, the meals were quite decent, and the seasoning was just right. However, for those accustomed to Seoul-style flavors, it might taste a bit salty. 3. Smoking Area Far Away The smoking area was far from the rooms, photo zones, and lobby, which was inconvenient for smokers but great for non-smokers like me, as I never had to deal with cigarette smells. 4. Swimming Pool Although the hotel has a swimming pool, I didn't use it. Instead, I worked out at the gym to loosen up before my flight. There are USB ports on the seats, so you can charge your phone. To get on, just buy a ticket from the ticket machine and go to the bus stop printed on the ticket! If you have a suitcase, check it in and get a voucher. They will remove moles for ₩4,000 each. If you buy the regenerative tape in advance, you don't have to buy it at the clinic. Japanese is not available. 4. ID Medical Piercing (아이디메디컬피어싱) A piercing shop in Hongdae. They use anesthetic cream so the pain is minimal. The Korean-Chinese Cultural Center, established by Incheon's Jung-gu District, serves as a focal point for cultural exchange. It offers diverse performances and exhibitions to promote mutual understanding between Korea and China, enriching the cultural landscape of ChinatownIncheon Incheon Chinatown is undergoing significant urban revitalization as part of a broader effort to rejuvenate the city's historical districts. The Marine & Harbor Walking & Tour Museum & Art City (MWM City) project is a key initiative in this transformation. This project aims to develop a cultural hub spanning 2.2 km² in the Jung-gu and Dong-gu areas, integrating Chinatown with nearby historical sites, the eighth port harbor, and East Incheon subway station. The plan includes the creation of an Asian Noodle Town, a tourist hub at the port, a historical park around the Incheon Customs Office, and the renovation of traditional markets. With an estimated cost of 50 billion won (approximately US$46.2 million), the project is supported by special legislation facilitating government-backed urban revitalization efforts Chinatown is easily accessible via Incheon Subway Line 1. 📍 Incheon Chinatown 🥟 Address: 50-2 Chinatown-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon (Simrihyang) After visiting Wolmido, we headed to Incheon Chinatown. For parking, we used the public parking lot at Jayu Park, which is about a 10-minute walk to Chinatown. The stroll to the entrance of Chinatown is pleasant, and you'll be greeted by murals and the Emperor's Staircase. Incheon Chinatown offers a wide variety of street food, including fire-roasted dumplings, hollow bread, mooncakes, Shandong-style dumplings, and xiaolongbao. The fun lies in choosing what to eat! This time, we visited Simrihyang, a famous fire-roasted dumpling shop in Chinatown. Although there was a long queue in front of the shop, waiting in line allows you to watch the dumplings being roasted in the oven, which builds anticipation. Simrihyang's fire-roasted dumplings are cooked to a golden crisp in a charcoal oven. The exterior is crunchy, while the inside is packed with juicy meat. With one bite, the flavorful juices and savory taste fill your mouth. They also sell a new spicy mala dumpling, which has a subtle mala aroma that makes it even more appealing than the regular meat dumplings. Both the classic fire-roasted dumplings and the mala dumplings are best enjoyed fresh and warm, offering a unique taste and comforting warmth. Eating fire-roasted dumplings and exploring the alleys of Incheon Chinatown is a delightful experience. Simrihyang dumplings are definitely worth the wait and are a must-try street food when visiting Chinatown.

#summervacay If you’re looking for a fun, not-too-crazy hike around Incheon, Gyeyangsan is where it’s at. It’s not super tall or anything, but the views from the top? Totally worth the effort. The trail is pretty friendly, steep in a few spots, sure, but nothing wild, and there are stairs and signs to help you out. You’ll probably run into a bunch of locals doing their daily hike, and the vibe is super relaxed. On the way up, you get little peeks of the city, and once you hit the top, panoramic views of Incheon, the airport, and even Seoul on a clear day. There are a few resting spots where you can chill, snack, and just take it all in. Bring water, maybe a rice ball or two, and you’re set. Oh, and if you time it right, sunset up there is chef’s kiss. It’s the perfect little escape without going full wilderness. Highly recommend for a laid-back adventure.
