Banteay Kdei
My favorite spots:
1. The beautiful dvarapalas
2. The finely crave devatas
3. A Buddha statue is still worshipped by the locals
Banteay Kdei is thought to have been built around the end of the 12th century as a Mahayana Buddhist temple under the King Jayavarman VII, having a Bayon style in architectural and artistic elements like Bayon and Ta Prohm, but five inscriptions discovered here do not mention clearly its founder or the date of construction. The archaeological excavations have enabled to develop important information about Banteay Kdei dating to the Post-Angkorian period suggested that the temple functioned in the Theravada Buddhist context.
The excavation of the Buddha statues, which amounted to 274 in number, was carried out in a spot located immediately to the west of this monument. The statues were placed in an artificial pit, and later soil was placed above them and tamped down firmly into a mound. The majority of the sculptures were those of the Buddha protected by a Naga, and many of them had been forcibly decapitated. It is believed that these Buddha statues were earlier dedicated to the temple of Banteay Kdei during the reign of Jayavarman VII, but later a king who was a believer in Hinduism, subsequently destroyed them.

Banteay Kdei Temple 🇰🇭
#2024wish
My visit to the Banteay Kdei Temple in Siem Reap Province was an unforgettable experience. The temple's allure lies not only in its picturesque surroundings but also in its rich historical significance. As I wandered through the temple complex, I couldn't help but marvel at the intricate carvings and the meticulous craftsmanship that adorned its walls. The sheer beauty and grandeur of this ancient masterpiece left me spellbound, igniting a sense of wonder and appreciation for the artistic prowess of the Cambodian people.
Banteay Kdei, also known as the "Citadel of Chambers," derives its name from the chambers that were once inhabited by monks. This magnificent temple was constructed by Jayavarman VII and showcases the remarkable Bayon architectural style, which is reminiscent of other famous temples like Ta Prohm and Preah Khan. Throughout history, Banteay Kdei served as a sanctuary for monks, providing them with a tranquil abode. Surprisingly, it continued to be utilized by monks until as recently as the 1960s.
Cambodia is a must-visit destination that adds significance and creates unforgettable memories to your travel experience. I am eagerly looking forward to revisiting this incredible place in 2024. ##mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #familytrip #localguides #banteaykdei #ancienttemples
The Cambodian minority hit the card, the miracle hidden in Angkor Wat! Retro and dreamy
In Southeast Asia, there are many buildings that are a mix of Hinduism and Buddhism. The spotted Katy can be said to be a typical example. In the wreckage of the wall, there are many giant statues of fairies and patrons, but they are erased by their names and painted with the Buddha's mark.
If you don't want to shuttle through the noisy crowd, you can be a great place to go. The cloister hall is like a labyrinth, telling the old story of the millennium. Trees and buildings are entangled with each other and are co-cast into a decadent aesthetic.
Tip: Whenever it arrives at 4 pm, the daylight turns from strong to squatting. At this time, it is most suitable for shooting portraits; you can let the model stand between the pillars and shadows, and make use of the sense of extension and natural light. .
The spotted Katy was built at the end of the 12th century. It is much larger than the newly seen Soybean Temple. It takes an hour to complete it. You can see the four-faced Buddha at the gate.
The spotted Katy has four entrances, all of which have the favorite theme of :: the head of Guanyin, hovering over the avatar. Jie Lu is the seat of Vishnu, showing the shape of a half man and a half bird.
I just saw the beautiful relief when I entered the gate. There are so many statues of the goddess of Katy. You can look for it carefully, and the various images are very beautiful. Like other attractions, there are vendors selling souvenirs and foods on the outside. When you call a business, you often attract you at a low price of one dollar, and the actual transaction price will be different. Be careful not to be cheated. The
temple is hidden in the jungle formed by these towering old trees. Imagine how the first person who discovered these remains was surprised and surprised. The story on the door frame tells the story, and many of them are still unsolved. If you continue to meet in depth, you will meet an altar. The old lady will signal you to incense. I think it should not be free. Afterwards, it is definitely necessary to make some incense money.
The temple is full of traces of restoration. The propped up supports the stones, few people, very quiet, better than the sights filled with tourists rushing past. Here, I will encounter some people who dont know where to come out to guide you to take photos. I think I will also tip afterwards. It is more important to get out in time.
The spotted Katy belongs to an attraction in the small circle of Angkor. The building is similar to the Temple of the Sword, and it is the same as the Bayu style. The area is much smaller. There is also a vaulted gallery. The shallow relief on the pillar is weathered and faded. But still beautiful. There are not many tourists here, so you can take a quiet tour. There are too many window sills, mottled, and engraved with the time that Angkor was once hidden by the jungle. It is very beautiful. It is very suitable for portraits. It is recommended that girls who love beauty can wear bright clothes and can look good in the spotted Katy. Today's visitors, the window is regarded as the best background, perhaps, this is the most beautiful photo frame in the world, take a single photo, photo is very suitable.
[Tips]
Traffic: Spotted Katy belongs to an area of Angkor Circle, located in the southeast of Tabu Cage Temple, east of Angkor City.
Tickets: included in the Angkor three-day ticket, seven-day ticket, this is not the big temple of Angkor, so there is no ticket checker, but you must also carry the tickets of Angkor.
Note: It is recommended to wear brightly colored clothes, with the window in the spot as the background, you can make a beautiful portrait.
Spotted Ketti, a large circle attraction, is located on the east side of Angkor Thom, close to the Tabu Cage Temple, opposite the Royal Baths. It was the first temple built by VII and the first one I visited during this trip. The style is similar to that of the Temple of the Sword and the Bayon Temple. There are also four statues of Buddha on the tower of the temple. There are also many Buddha statues and Miss Apsara in the temple.

Excellent photo point just outside the center of the temple

One of the temples in the dynasty, its architectural style is still painted in the painting, layer by layer, different perspectives from different angles. An abandoned ruin, thousands of years have passed, and the fascinating wall still has a vivid Miss Apsara. Imagine how beautiful these buildings were. There are more than half a year of rain in Cambodia. The rain slowly erodes the outer wall. The color becomes more and more quaint. The light green moss and the white wall are wrapped in the remains. It is still one layer after another, as if the fairies are laughing and playing. The back garden of the hideaway game. Everywhere on the outer wall of the temple is a complex carving. The waves, the clouds and the fairies are all the efforts of the engraver. On the architectural structure, there are another stone door and window behind the stone door and window, which is deep and atmospheric. dream.
The spotty is almost forgotten by the tour group and belongs to a relatively small ruin temple. When I arrived, the number of people in the temple was very few. The place where there were few people was my favorite. I can feel it well and take pictures.
