The Original Egg Coffee Café in Hanoi
Cafe Giang was established in 1946 by Nguyen Van Giang, who was a bartender at the Metropole Hanoi Hotel.
At that time, due to a shortage of milk, he started making coffee with egg yolks. Today, this egg coffee has become one of Hanoi's signature drinks.
Egg coffee is a beverage topped with a creamy foam made by mixing egg yolks, condensed milk, and sugar over strong coffee.
The foam is soft and sweet, reminiscent of tiramisu cream, and pairs well with the bitter taste of coffee.
In addition to egg coffee, there are other drinks like egg cocoa, egg beer, and egg green tea, so it's highly recommended to visit and try them.
