Lingyin Temple was first built in the first year of Xianhe period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326 AD), and its founder was the Western Indian monk Huili. Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern Dynasties granted land and expanded the temple. During the Five Dynasties, King Qian Liu of Wuyue ordered Master Yongming Yanshou to rebuild and develop the temple and named it Lingyin New Temple. Feilai Peak Stone Carvings are Buddhist stone carvings from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period to the Yuan Dynasty. They are located on Feilai Peak in front of Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. There are more than 380 statues, among which the statues from the Five Dynasties are small in number and size, and still retain the style of the late Tang Dynasty.
