#Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, an IHG Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong
#wheretogo My stay at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong was a real treat, and I've got some exciting details to share, so let's dive in!
First off, we snagged one of their heritage rooms, and it was like stepping into a little slice of Singapore's history. The room was not just spacious but also spotlessly clean, and the decor was a cool nod to Singaporean culture. I'm talking sewing machine table legs, rooster crockery, rattan chairs – it was a true homage to the local vibe.
Now, let's talk service. These folks really know how to make you feel at home. The front desk staff remembered my name, which was a nice personal touch. And everyone around the hotel was super polite and friendly, making it a breeze to navigate.
The cherry on top was the rooftop pool. Sure, there might be a tad bit of obstruction in the view, but honestly, I didn't mind because the overall experience was pretty darn amazing.
Now, location-wise, this place is a gem. It's right there on East Coast Road, with plenty of fantastic restaurants and bars within walking distance. And if you're in the mood for some shopping, the I12 Mall is right next door. When it comes to sightseeing, a quick cab ride will get you to all the touristy spots. Plus, there's a bus stop practically at the doorstep, though the Dakota MRT is a few bus stops away.
But let's get to the really cool stuff. This place is all about Peranakan culture, and it's evident everywhere you look. From the lobby to the suites, the interiors are a beautiful homage to this unique heritage. And let me tell you, the beds here are like sleeping on a cloud. The room amenities? They've got it all covered, from coffee and tea to eco-friendly water bottles and even candies.
And don't even get me started on the bathroom goodies – top-notch soap, shampoos, and conditioners. My boyfriend was particularly smitten with the foot scrub, which was a lifesaver after our long days exploring the city.
In a nutshell, Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong was an absolute gem of a stay. The Peranakan vibes, the warm service, the convenient location – it all added up to a memorable experience. If you want to feel the local flavor and experience Singapore in style, this place won't disappoint. It definitely exceeded our expectations and made our trip extra special.#freehotelstay

Very nice hotel, clean, friendly staff and nice modern style. The rooftop infinity pool is the perfect place to relax before or after sightseeing. A bit far from the main sightseeing spots, but ok. Small eateries in Katong are great to explore - feel more authentic but less touristy. The breakfast was delicious!!
What I really enjoyed was the aqua gym and cycling classes in the pool.
I was lucky to stumble across the watersports lessons on the first day as I was swimming in the pool at 8am. How lucky! I really like the courses offered by Ripple Club! Beautiful day begins. I was lucky that the class was free that week. I go there every morning. The course should be promoted more in the hotel. I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't stumbled across it. That would be a shame.

Things To Do in East of Singapore
East is my favourite area in Singapore, there are so many instagramable places and local food to explore 🤍
I would say best part of Singapore can be found at East side, from cultural experience to culinary adventure! And i love how the residential are very low density at East area and no sky scrapper, still look like very old style of Singapore..
🏷 Save this for your future visit to Singapore!
Things to do in East of Singapore:
1. Explore neighbourhood - instagramable spot to visit: Koon Seng Road Pastel Houses, Joo Chiat Community Center, Red House, street art mural.
2. Try local dishes: Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Rice Dumpling and Nyonya Kuih ( My fav: Lapis Sagu & Kueh Salat)
3. Experience the culture: Check out Kim Choo and Rumah Bebe
4. Cafe hopping: Baba Chew Cafe, Chin Mee Chin, Cafe Natsu, Tigerlily Patisserie, Bird of Paradise Gelato
5. Picnic at East Coast
6. Stay at Peranakan inspired Boutique Hotel: my choice would be @hotelindigosingapore @ihghotels
Is East side of Singapore your favourite part as well?!

Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong

How to book swimming pool timing: When I was there, it was pre-covid then this hotel went on full SHN mode. AFAIK, they ain’t opening yet. So this hotel’s pool belongs to the OTOT (own time own target) pool.
I am in love with Hotel Indigo, a cute round bathtub with a splash of vintage bathroom decor such as clogs and spittoon. I also like to do a battle of laksa tasting in this neighbourhood.
If you have a change in the near future to this hotel, do check out their rooftop pool. The pool has a huge sign at the bottom of their pool. Just remember to stand at the far corner of the pool and take your victory shot, overlooking Katong’s infinity view. Their pool is pretty long and is able for swimmers to swim their laps too.
I will definitely recommend this hotel for its awesome location (despite not being near any MRT).

Charming Boutique Hotel in Katong
My sister and I spent a weekend at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong to celebrate her birthday last July. I’ve been wanting to stay at this hotel for so long since it ticks all my checkboxes for my type of a good staycation-hotel.
Firstly, there should be something new, unique, or aesthetically pleasing to look forward to in the hotel and Hotel Indigo delivered! It was the Peranakan heritage inspired interiors that really compelled me to book this hotel. I liked that the entrance & lobby is hidden behind the green wall. The common areas were all inviting as they exude warm ambiance and interesting furniture as think pieces. We stayed in a King Bed Standard Heritage View with Bath and the colours, tiles, textile choices, and furnishings in the room all coincided with the overall theme of the hotel. I really loved the mural in the room and the vanity counter is a win for me.
Secondly, to be able to fully relax, a dip in the tub is a must! The bathtub is circular making it unique from all the other hotels. Armed with the bath bombs we bought, me and my sister definitely enjoyed each of our baths, before going to sleep.
Third requirement would be a nice pool and satisfying dining options. Sadly, we didn’t get to do a night swim in the pool as we got back to the hotel too late after dinner. Still, the rooftop pool was stunning day and night. We ate dinner in their restaurant Baba Chews Bar and Eatery. The colonial exterior is just as pretty as the interiors of the restaurant. We ate modern Singaporean food, and it was tasty. A hiccup would be that there was a long wait for the food, we were informed beforehand though. Breakfast is also served here. You get to choose your main breakfast along with the choices in the buffet spread.
After dinner, we roamed around the area as it was a different feel from where we lived in Singapore. Of course, we had to get ice cream for dessert while walking and taking pictures of the vicinity.
Oh and the front office team gave a slice of cake for my sister’s birthday with a handwritten letter of their well wishes. The letter was a sweet gesture and the pandan cake was delicious! Bonus points for the nice staff.
Will recommend this hotel to family and friends!
