Unlock the Green Wonderland of Yimeng Mountain
Amid swirling clouds and mist, walking on the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge at 505 meters feels like strolling in the clouds, with a deep valley beneath your feet and endless mountains before your eyes.
In July, Tianmeng Mountain is lush and green, with an overwhelming concentration of negative oxygen ions in the air, making every breath feel cool. I entered through the east gate of the scenic area, and along the way, the melodious tune of "Yimeng Mountain Ballad" floated through the forest—this is the birthplace of this classic Shandong folk song.
A short walk brought me to the Yimeng Mountain Ballad Living Museum. Each courtyard is an exhibition hall showcasing cultural content such as the former site of the Anti-Japanese University’s First Branch Art Troupe, the Yimeng Spirit Hall, and the Yimeng Customs Hall. Local villagers performed different versions of the Yimeng Mountain Ballad live, instantly immersing visitors in the unique charm of Yimeng culture.
01 Green Wonderland, Natural Marvels
The Tianmeng Tourism Area is located in the eastern section of the Yimeng Mountain range, with an elevation of 1001.2 meters and a forest coverage rate exceeding 98%. It is a typical representative and core scenic area of the "beautiful scenery of the Yimeng Mountain region."
Stepping into Tianmeng Mountain feels like entering a cool green world. Between 7 and 9 a.m., when the mist lingers and the light is hazy and dreamlike, you can avoid the crowds and claim the entire secret realm. Thick moss wraps the stone paths, making even time seem to slow down.
Following the winding trails, the sound of babbling streams grows clearer. A gentle breeze stirs the shadows of flowers and flowing water, harmonizing with the green trees on the banks and the distant blue mountains, like a moving ink painting.
Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dancing patches of light on the ground. The scent of earth mixed with flowers and grass fills the nose. Taking a deep breath of "forest oxygen" makes you feel light and refreshed.
02 World Record, Thrilling Adventure
The most eye-catching highlight of Tianmeng Mountain is the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge. The bridge is 505.5 meters long, with a main span of 420 meters, and the deck is 143 meters above the valley floor.
Walking on the bridge, surrounded by mountains and swirling mist, feels like wandering in a fairyland. For the brave, there is a glass section in the middle of the bridge to look down into the deep valley below, offering a thrilling experience.
Besides the suspension bridge, the scenic area also features a 360° panoramic glass viewing platform and the first cliffside plank road north of the Yangtze River, combining wonder, beauty, and danger. These facilities allow visitors to appreciate the magnificent scenery of Tianmeng Mountain from different perspectives.
The cliffside plank road stretches 12 kilometers and includes suspended walkways, natural stone paths, wooden boardwalks, and pine needle trails. Along the route, scenic nodes and rest platforms are designed based on Yimeng culture, offering breathtaking views of Tianmeng’s wonders and forest seas.
03 Ultimate Experience, Cloud Adventure
Tianmeng Mountain offers a variety of heart-pounding extreme activities. Leap from the world’s longest suspension bridge for a 145-meter free fall into the abyss, awakening courage deep within your soul.
Become a martial arts hero, flying across the canyon. Harnessed to a wire, stepping on clouds, you can perform your own "lightness skill" blockbuster atop Tianmeng.
The scenic area also has a high-altitude wire flying experience where performers dressed in gorgeous costumes dance gracefully in the air, executing difficult and beautiful moves that amaze visitors.
Speed through the forest, using the mountain’s terrain to dive. A hundred-meter zipline crosses the valley, blending the sensation of weightlessness with the forest breeze, unlocking the wild romance of "flying close to the ground."
The most exciting is the mountain forest rafting, winding around the mountain with countless twists and turns. Water splashes and heartbeats race together, delivering a double thrill of speed and coolness.
04 Cultural Heritage, Red Yimeng
Tianmeng Mountain is not only a treasure trove of natural beauty but also a place of red cultural heritage. As the birthplace of the "Yimeng Mountain Ballad," it carries the profound spirit of Yimeng.
At the birthplace of the Yimeng Mountain Ballad, a large immersive live performance is deeply moving. Smoke fills the air, horns blare! The figures of Anti-Japanese University students and Yimeng villagers come alive in the real mountains and waters, reenacting scenes like sending soldiers off, nursing wounded with breast milk, and the fireline bridge... those textbook stories vividly come to life before your eyes.
As the fourth-generation singer of the "Yimeng Mountain Ballad," Teacher Song Shoulian often passionately performs classic Yimeng songs such as "Yimeng Mountain Ballad" and "My Hometown Yimeng Mountain," showcasing the unique cultural charm of the Yimeng region.
Visitors here can not only enjoy natural scenery but also deeply feel the rich heritage of this red land and experience the Yimeng spirit of "inseparable as water and milk, sharing life and death."
05 Scenic Beauty in All Seasons
Tianmeng Mountain is beautiful in all four seasons, each with its own charm. Summer is one of the most enchanting seasons, with dense forests and lush shade forming a natural umbrella.
Strolling along mountain paths, the cool mountain breeze brushes your face, bringing endless comfort. Every breath is filled with the fresh scent of the forest, deeply relaxing your body and mind.
Winter at Tianmeng Mountain has its own special appeal. The scenic area cleverly integrates its resources to perfectly blend the festive atmosphere of the traditional Spring Festival with the magical scenery of the ice and snow world.
The spectacular "Hundred-Meter Ice Hanging" wonder on the cliff wall northwest of Wanghailou vividly showcases winter’s beauty. On the snow slide, visitors speed down, enjoying thrilling fun.
In spring and autumn, Tianmeng Mountain is like a picturesque painting. Spring brings blooming flowers, and autumn paints the forests in layers of color—both perfect times for visitors to take memorable photos.
