#Jiabang Terrace Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Jibang Terrace
Stunning area and well worth the 3 hour (ish) bus ride from Congjiang Railway Station. There are frequent busses leaving from there to downtown where you have to change to another bus taking you directly to the Jibang Terrace. plenty of hotels and a few shops to get basic things. Sunrise is well worth the wake up!

The Hidden Paradise of Congjiang County in Guizhou: The Stunning Beauty of Jiabang Rice Terraces
🦚 Located in Congjiang County of the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, the Jiabang Rice Terraces are nestled deep within the Moon Mountain. Stretching over dozens of kilometers along the mountain slopes, they resemble a silver ribbon winding around the mid-mountain. 🦠 From April to June each year, the terraces under the setting sun are incredibly beautiful, coexisting harmoniously with the town and showcasing the wisdom of the ancient rice-fish-duck symbiotic farming system.

Travel Tips:
Dongpeng Terrace 👉 Jiaye Terrace 👉 Jiache Terrace 👉 Tangga Terrace 👉 Sanhu Terrace 👉 Liangxiang Terrace 👉 Wuduan Terrace
👏 The best season to visit the terraces is from March to May, as the fields are filled with water, making the entire terraces glisten. The reflection of the blue sky and white clouds can be seen in the water, creating a breathtaking view. Especially around sunrise, the sunlight pierces through the morning mist from the mountaintop, illuminating every valley. The terraces shine golden under the sunlight, offering a spectacular sight.
Local Specialty Dishes 🔥
🎉 Sour Soup Fish: This is the most famous local dish, with a sour and spicy flavor that is very appetizing.
🎈 Miao Sticky Rice Powder: This is a traditional Miao delicacy, with a soft and sticky texture that is very tasty.
🎁 Grilled Fish: I highly recommend this dish, as the fish is fresh and tender, with a unique flavor, and the way of eating it is also quite special.
💦 The Miao people of Jiabang have lived here for generations. In spring, they water the fields; in summer, the crops grow lush; in autumn, they harvest. They start working at sunrise and rest at sunset. This way of life has continued for thousands of years without change. Here, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find tranquility so profound that you can hear your own heartbeat.

Related Tips:
1️⃣The journey from Congjiang to Jiabang Rice Terraces takes more than 2 hours, and it is mostly mountain roads, so be mentally prepared and bring motion sickness medicine
2️⃣There may be a psychological gap of 'not meeting expectations', as the facilities in the scenic area are not perfect, and the terraces are all natural rural landscapes
3️⃣Most people visit Zhaoxing Dong Village or Rongjiang Village Super Stadium, both of which are similar distances from Jiabang Rice Terraces. You can take a direct bus to Zhaoxing Dong Village at Congjiang Station, and it seems there is also a direct bus to the Village Super Stadium, but it is subject to actual conditions
4️⃣The recommended visiting season is from April to October, with irrigation in spring, lush green rice fields in summer, and golden hues in autumn
5️⃣The rice terraces consist of three natural villages: Dangniu, Jiaye, and Jiache. Accommodation and dining are concentrated in Jiache Village, as it is the highest village with the best scenery, while the other two villages are sparsely populated and very primitive
6️⃣The shuttle bus runs from the ticket office all the way to Jiache Village, allowing passengers to get on and off along the way; you can also take short hikes and catch the shuttle bus when tired
7️⃣Currently, self-driving into the scenic area is not allowed, and you can only park at the entrance of the scenic area. However, driving into Jiabang Rice Terraces will pass through various natural villages with nice landscapes

In Jiabang, enjoy the story of the countryside and the clouds and mountains
Whether you can see a good view from the terraces depends entirely on luck, because places with large-scale terraces (paddy fields) are generally located in the mountains of the south, where the air is humid, there is a lot of rain, and the mist is pervasive, often with thick fog all day long. I have been to the Longji Terraces in Guilin, the Yunhe Terraces in Zhejiang, and the Nanjianyan Terraces before, and each time it was misty. This time, when I went to the Jiabang Terraces, it was rare for the fog to dissipate at noon, allowing for a clear view, and I finally had what I would call a successful terrace trip.
Time arrangement: Navigate to the Jiabang Terrace Scenic Area, it is best to go up the mountain the day before, stay overnight in the terrace scenic area, and then slowly tour the next day depending on the weather. Be careful driving on the mountain roads as they are not very good.
Accommodation recommendation: It is recommended to stay near Viewing Platform No. 6, which is the last viewing platform in the scenic area and also the highest point. From No. 6 to No. 1, you can finish touring and reach the entrance and exit of the scenic area without having to backtrack. I stayed at Lianghua Homestay, which is just above Viewing Platform No. 6, and you can enjoy the view from the hotel.
Tips: The terraces are generally located in the valley, and because they are paddy fields, there is a lot of moisture, and there is often thick fog in the morning. Don't be in a hurry, wait until noon or the afternoon when the fog usually disperses, that's the best time for photography.
Chasing the wind among the mountains and fields
Nestled in the secret depths of Guizhou's mountains, the vast terraced fields
Created by the Miao people over thousands of years with their labor and wisdom, a pure land on earth.
The village is small, and it's easy to become familiar with the locals.
At the homestay, you can drink with the village head and the party secretary.
The ferry car driver says if the weather is good, he can take you fishing.
As a designated poverty alleviation area for the Greater Bay Area, the people of Shenzhen also enjoy the benefit of free admission.
Jiabang Terraced Fields are worth visiting any season of the year.
Punching in at Jiabang Rice Terraces
The sunset at Jiabang Rice Terraces is intoxicatingly beautiful. As the sun gradually sinks into the horizon, its afterglow spills over the terraces, turning them a golden hue. A cool breeze wafts through the mountains, and the contours of the terraces soften in the twilight. At this moment, time seems to stand still, with only the beautiful scenery keeping you company.
The romance that belongs exclusively to Guizhou
The Golden Week of Jiabang Terraced Fields is coming. As the hospitable people of Guizhou, we have traveled all over the province's 5A, avoiding the crowd
I recommend a hidden gem for travel. It took me nearly 4 hours to drive from Guiyang. Everything is good, just don't go in winter. Definitely! Definitely! Definitely! Don't go in winter
If you come to Guizhou, I recommend this. Jiabang Terraced Fields
Located in the northeast of Jiabang Township in the belly of Moon Mountain in the western part of Congjiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, 80 kilometers away from the county seat, it is one of the best terraced fields in China. The terraced fields are scattered with the unique stilted buildings of the Miao region. It is a masterpiece left by the Miao people from generation to generation. The Miao people are a "rice and fish soup" nation.
Jiabang Terraced Fields have few tourists and simple folk customs. From April to October every year, it is the most beautiful season here!
is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, one of the three major terraced landscapes in our country, located in the belly of Moon Mountain. The scale of Jiabang Terraced Fields is huge, with a total area of nearly 10,000 mu, stretching for 25 kilometers. The terraces vary in size and shape, with thousands of postures. In the early autumn, after the rain in Jiabang Terraced Fields in Congjiang County, the clouds and mist are lingering, the golden rice fields and the scattered stilted buildings are looming in the clouds and mist, as if they are covered with a layer of cloud clothes, which is beautiful and constitutes a beautiful autumn day picture
There is a saying in Guizhou that "three miles are flat", the special environment is adapted to local conditions, and the fields here are all open to the mountains. The height of the altitude and the size of the hillside create terraces of different shapes. On the way from the city of Cangjiang to the list, you can see a small town surrounded by mountains and terraces.
How happy the villagers living in this small village are, away from the hustle and bustle of modern civilization, scattered villages like islands, deep in the depths of the mountains. In the scenery of the list, it is necessary to slowly and slowly look at it. It is really beautiful. The mountains here are covered by terraces. Green is the theme that will never change here. Some magnificent landscapes are hard to tell with words. When you see them, there are too many emotions. The size of the terraces in
plus is incredible, the total area is close to 10,000 mu, and the continuous shutter is 25 kilometers. The shutter can't stop here. The scenery is often in a moment, from a close look, it is If you dont move, the terraced fields stand here for a hundred years. From a long-term perspective, the clouds are changing rapidly, and the beauty seems to be an illusion. The top of the list is the "ladder". The terraces climb up from the Jiahe Valley around the mountain beams. Like a "ladder" connecting the heavens and the earth, the height difference between the ladders is nearly two or three hundred meters. The size and shape of each part of the terraces that are hundreds of meters long are completely different. Peer partners like to call the scenery here "a long stretch of the wedding."
There are not many tourists visiting in the terraced fields hidden in the mountains. The terraces of this season are yellow and green in color. If the scattered villages are hidden in the middle of the landscape, the harvested rice can be seen everywhere, and the red peppers that are essential for Guizhou cooking, even the garden dogs are so comfortable. .
Lunch was eaten by the village head in the village. The first time the local people ate the rice paddy fish on their own fire, sitting on a small bench and eating steaming ducks. Hot Pot. Pure Miao Zhai taste, thick home rice, for the first time has a local feeling.
