[2025 Tokyo Stay] Travel Guide for JR East Hotel Mets Premier Gotanda (Updated May)

This trip was more impromptu, from booking the flight/hotel to departure only a week, so the hotel options are more limited, eventually tried this hotel Gotanda Station. I have never been to Gotoda area before, but close to Shinagawa Station, changing to the airport JR is convenient, much easier than Tokyo Station, and the hotel is next to JR station, really typhoon and rain is not afraid. This time I booked the Nonsmoking Premium Double room with breakfast, the room space is enough, the bathroom is big enough, the hot and cold water is enough, the air conditioner is cold enough, the only thing missing is the safe. Breakfast can be, ABC three to choose from, of course, even a few days to feel no freshness. The hotel downstairs is Uniqlo, the next building has a footbridge connected to Muji, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, 100 Yen store and supermarket, supermarket is also open until 00:00, nearby Donki to 01:00 ....... After drinking in Gotanda, I thought, "Should I stay here?" So I decided to stay at this hotel on short notice. 🫢 I've been there many times, and have eaten at the restaurant next to the front desk a few times, but this was my first time staying there. ❣️ Since it was on short notice, I didn't have a charger, makeup remover, or other overnight kit. I called before going to the hotel to inquire, and found out that there were chargers (for iPhone, Android, etc.) in each room, and there was an amenity set with makeup remover, face wash, lotion, milky lotion, and bath salts next to the front desk, which was super helpful. ☺️! For breakfast, I could choose from eggs Benedict, Japanese food, or pork ginger rice bowl at the attached cafe! And the best thing about it is that it's only a one-minute walk from the station! ! The Uniqlo on the second floor is in the same elevator as the hotel. You can take your purchases directly back to your room. There is a large sky bridge on the second floor that connects to the Gotanda Tokyu Plaza next door. The first floor of the building is a supermarket, Tokyu Store There are many discounted cooked food options available in the evening. And the Lawson, Torikoku and some restaurants and ramen shops across the street Gotanda Station has JR Yamanote Line and Toei Asakusa Line, which are just downstairs from the hotel. No matter where you go, transportation is very convenient Keisei Access Express tickets are available for Narita Airport at 1,480 yen. There is a direct train from Gotanda Station but the frequency is not high It is recommended to check the timetable in advance. Otherwise, you will have to transfer 1-2 times. It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to go directly to Narita Airport. If you are not in a hurry and don't want to carry your luggage all the time, this is a cheap and convenient option. But it's just like a train, there are no reserved seats, so it's closer and more convenient to Haneda Airport.
