Summer Echoes of Shonan Coast | Ultimate Day Trip Around Kamakura Streets
"Coach, I want to play basketball!" 🎙️ Every time I hear this line, memories of passionate youth flood my mind. This time, I finally embarked on a dream trip to Kamakura High School, the filming location of 'Slam Dunk.' I relived my passionate youth and discovered many hidden gems. Let me share them with you!
📍 Kamakura High School Front Station & Railroad Crossing
As soon as I got off the Enoden, the familiar scene came into view: the tracks, signal lights, slope, and the blue sea in the distance. Isn't this the scene from the anime? 🚃 Standing in front of the railroad crossing, waiting for the train to pass slowly, it felt like Sakuragi Hanamichi and Haruko were waving at me. There were many people taking photos, but everyone was orderly, taking turns. To get a satisfying photo, I tried several different angles. The results were amazing!
🍰 Dessert Time: bills
After walking around, take a break at the super popular bills! This place is right by the Shichirigahama coast, with unbeatable sea view seats 🌊. The signature pancakes are a must-try! Fluffy and soft, they melt in your mouth, paired with fresh fruits and sweet cream, each bite is pure bliss. Sitting by the window, feeling the sea breeze, enjoying delicious desserts, and looking at the sea view outside, it's simply too pleasant.
🎁 Souvenir Shopping: Komachi Street Shopping District
From Kamakura High School Front Station, take a few stops on the Enoden to Kamakura Station. As soon as you exit, you'll see Komachi Street. It's a shopping paradise with various specialty shops 🎐. I spent a long time here, bringing back many souvenirs for friends, like exquisite washi crafts, delicious Kamakura specialty snacks, and super cute anime merchandise. While shopping, I also stumbled upon a cat-themed souvenir shop, filled with cat-related items that melted my heart. I immediately bought a few cat figurines.
🍱 Teppanyaki Feast: Teppanyaki Shichirigahama
Dinner was at this amazing teppanyaki restaurant! The restaurant is by the sea, allowing you to enjoy beautiful sea views and sunsets while savoring delicious food. The chef cooks on-site, and the freshness of the ingredients is visible. The wagyu beef and seafood sizzle on the teppan, filling the air with a tantalizing aroma. Paired with special sauces, every bite is incredibly satisfying. I highly recommend their wagyu set; the meat is tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth. It's one of the best teppanyaki I've ever had!
I walked about 10,000 steps that day. Although a bit tired, it was incredibly fulfilling and joyful. Kamakura High School holds countless youthful memories, and the surrounding food and souvenir shops added much fun to this trip. If you love anime, enjoy food and shopping, don't miss a day trip around Kamakura High School! 💕
