นั่งรถไฟเที่ยวยังไงให้คุ้ม...Tokyo Wide Pass
#Travel by train
Hello, a 3-day, 2-night trip to Japan may be a little short for some people, but for me, traveling by train to Tokyo and nearby cities is convenient, comfortable, and very worthwhile.
This post will only review trains, using the 3-day Tokyo Wide Pass to travel to 3 cities near Tokyo.
First, buy the pass through the JR East website because you can use it from the airport. If you buy it from other agents, such as Klook, you have to pick up the pass at Ueno Station, so you can't use it from Narita Airport.
Then plan where to go in the 3 days... I went at the end of February, the cherry blossoms in Kawazu were in full bloom, and the snow at Gala Yuzawa was still beautiful. So the plan came out as follows:
On the first day, get off the plane in the morning, exchange the pass, and get the tickets that you booked in advance for various routes at Narita...
... Then use the pass to ride the Narita Express all the way to Ofuna, then transfer to the Limited Express Odoriko to Kawazu. After taking beautiful pictures of the cherry blossoms, in the evening, take the Odoriko straight from Kawazu to Ueno and check in to your accommodation.
On the second day, take the Shinkansen from Ueno to Gala Yuzawa. This train is great. It goes all the way to the ski resort. Enjoy the soft snow for a whole day.
On the third day, carry your backpack out of your accommodation in Ueno area, take the Shinkansen Nagano line to Karuizawa station. You can walk around the city, see nature, shop at famous outlets, or ski, whichever you like. After eating, take the train back to Tokyo. Continue on the Narita Express to the airport. Wait to board the plane in the evening or at night.
It can be said that a single pass is a great value for traveling by train to cities outside of Tokyo. You can get both the feeling of pink cherry blossoms, white snow, and shopping until you drop your money before returning on the last day.
Don't forget to book your seat online, then pick up the pass and receive the tickets you booked at the same time. You can change your plan to see Fuji one day, or go to worship the Great Buddha of Kamakura, stop by Hase Temple, and in the evening, see the port city of Yokahama one day, whichever you like.
A worthwhile trip, all in one pass, Tokyo Wide Pass.
