[2025 Riga Attraction] Travel Guide for Latvian War Museum (Updated Jun)

Hi guy, The free museum that you don't miss! The Latvian War Museum is one of the oldest and biggest museums in Latvia. It started in 1916. The museum shows Latvia’s military and political history, especially in the 1900s, when the country had to fight two times to become independent. Inside consisted stuff of war such as cloths for wearing in war each season, weapons, armors, essential things and vehicles. In my opinion it's worth to visited, spend 1 or 2 hours to take a look a round here is enough. Thanks!

Riga was a city of easy going and low cost, so it's perfectly for me, who love walking, explore and eat. I had spent two nights here, and walk around day and night, I went many museums that I liked, and I have 2 places to recommend is Latvian National Museum of Art and Latvian War Museum is worth to spending time to see. Because of Riga was a city low costs, so I've eaten all day all time since I stay here, whether it is bake, burgers, donut and beer :D If you have a chance to visit here, bet with me! there is so much to see in here. it's freezing too (so make a donation when you leave for what it was worth) history if wars in the area going back hundreds of years, with a lot about Communist occupation and to a lesser part Nazi occupation. very interesting. on 5 floors I believe. there are toilets here also. open 10am -5pm daily. Getting There - along the north side old city wall, a nice walk itself, it's on the west side, near the park , look for the powder tower, originally art of the defensive system for the city. Attractions - guns, a lot of them! Food & Restaurants - plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. and a park. none in the museum. Shopping - plenty of shops within walking distance, including a convenience shop opposite the entrance for snacks and drinks. #museum #history #riga #military #free
