#Mardin Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Mardin Castle, Turkey
Visiting Mardin Castle was an interesting and astonishing experience in Turkey. This castle is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the city of Mardin, characterized by its ancient history and unique architectural beauty.
When I arrived at Mardin Castle, I was overwhelmed by its privileged position on a high hill overlooking the old city. The origins of this castle date back to antiquity, built in the 12th century BC. Mardin Castle is a fine example of historic Islamic architecture.
Overall, my visit to Mardin Castle was a fun and educational trip. It was distinguished by the beauty of historical buildings and magnificent landscapes. If you are interested in history and culture and want to explore the city of Mardin, I recommend visiting Mardin Castle for a unique and unforgettable experience.
Knowing that it was a coincidence that I saw some old pictures in a photography magazine, I could hardly find any guides or introductions about it on the Internet. Contacting the local hotel, confirming the local security problems, I could not restrain my inner yearning, turned a few cars, and finally arrived at the old town on the Turkish border, on the edge of Syria. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the tourist area, the nights here are extraordinarily quiet... On the balcony you can see the lights from the old houses and the distant Syrian border ~
.
is special The kind old man is staying with the children, because the young people are going to the big cities... They rarely see Asians, and they take me to take pictures with all kinds of enthusiasm.
The whole city is an old building, the beauty is incomparable, it is definitely the kind of baptized beauty that you can't see anywhere. (The naked eye is 100 times more beautiful than the camera.) )
.
But because there are fewer tourists on the international border, everyone should pay attention to safety and go with them! Reduce travel at night!
ps: Summer heat, recommend everyone to go in autumn or winter.
Photo: Recommend everyone to bring the aerial camera! The city's aerial photography is super amazing!
Transportation: The quickest way is to fly directly from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Mardin Airport (MQM) and then take a taxi to the old town.
Address: ehidiye Mah. 39. Sok No
The ancient city of Mardin was built on the hills. The houses are typical, all built with stone, hence the name Shitou City. The top of the mountain is an old castle that has been damaged. Only the cliff wall is left. The most conspicuous place is the Turkish flag, which is condescending and overlooks the entire plain.
Mardin is located in the southeast of Turkey, very close to the northern part of Syria. The majority of the population is Kurdish, and the remaining few are Turks and refugees who fled from Syria.
Some people say that it is the most unconventional place of travel in Turkey. There are no travelers who want to go there. Some people say that it is close to the edge of Syria, and they will suffer unexpectedly at any time. Some people say that there are too many refugees there, and poverty is backward. One hundred people have a hundred kinds of answers. Traveling is the unknown uncertainty of the road ahead, which is the fun. Its better to look at it than to hear it.
Mardin ancient city built on the mountain, the houses are typical, all built with stone, so it is called Stone City, the top is the old damaged castle, leaving only the cliff wall, the most conspicuous place Inserted the Turkish flag, condescending, overlooking the entire plain. Thousands of flat-topped buildings are located in the middle of the mountain in a slight order. Numerous minarets are interspersed among them, forming a very unique visual angle, like a castle in the power of the game, and imagination. Turkey is too different.
Look at this familiar scene in front of the scene, I found the old town of Kashgar many years ago, and thought that I came to the ancient city of Kashan in Iran, or expand the alpine version of the Yazd century old city, Like a mixture of these three, exotic and mysterious.
