Beautiful waterfall in a pristine forest
Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park covers an area in Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province and Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, covering an area of 26,238.00 rai. It was declared the 129th national park of Thailand on December 26, 2016. This park was upgraded from Namtok Chet Sao Noi Forest Park, which was established in 1980 and has a park office located at Village 9, Kaeng Lu Village, Muak Lek Subdistrict, Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province.
Namtok Chet Sao Noi, which was previously under the care of the Royal Forest Department, is a small waterfall with 7 levels. The name of the waterfall came from a survey of the area by forest rangers who found a 7-level waterfall near the village of Sao Noi, located to the north of the waterfall. Therefore, it was named Namtok Chet Sao Noi, after the name of the village and the number of levels of the waterfall.
Namtok Chet Sao Noi is a waterfall formed by the Muak Lek Stream. It has 7 low levels, covering a total distance of 490 meters. Each level is about 1-4 meters high, with water flowing down each level into a wide stream similar to a large rapid. There are shallow, clear pools where tourists can swim in many places. The most popular levels for tourists to swim are levels 1-4, but level 3 has deep pools, so you have to swim with caution. Level 4 is a more beautiful waterfall than the others. Levels 6-7 are quiet and have fewer tourists because the current is quite strong, making it not suitable for swimming. Around the waterfall, there is a convenient path along the waterfall, shaded by various types of trees and a bridge over the waterfall where you can see the beautiful view of levels 1-4.
The most beautiful time for the waterfall is from November to April because it is the time when there is a lot of water. Tourists like to visit all year round, even in the hot season when the water level is a bit low. However, it is suitable for cooling off in the water.
