Eat in Central | Porker | Recommend Gillette Aged Pork Rib Eye
Waffles has wanted to try Porker for a long time, and finally got the chance to try it before the end of 2022.
I passed by there before 2pm on Christmas Eve and there were only a few people waiting in line for a table, so #Wofuandshrimpcakes decided to have lunch here.
There are many piglet decorations in the restaurant, but what attracted Waffle the most was the "giant cabbage" on the wall.
I went to Porker just to eat #GillettePig, so I only focused on the waffles and shrimp cakes on this page of the menu and ordered a Full House set meal ($220) and a Gillette aged pork eye set meal (limited) ($200).
Those who don’t eat pork can choose braised pork with ginger. If you don’t eat pork, you can choose shrimp.
Shortly after placing the order, white rice and pork miso soup were delivered. The only minus point that day was that the rice was not presented nicely enough. At first I thought the rice portion was a little small, but later I found out that if you order two meals you can get unlimited additional rice and cabbage.
Pork miso soup is sweeter than regular miso soup because it contains richer ingredients such as pork, onions, and carrots.
Let me first introduce the Full House Set Meal ($220), where you can try three types of dishes at once: well-cooked pork sirloin, pork fillet and cheese pork patty. The outside of the patty is crispy and not greasy. It’s no wonder that there is a queue for a table at around 2pm for such a high standard. Warm reminder: the lava cheese in the cheese pork patty is very hot, so be careful not to burn your mouth.
The Gillette Aged Pork Eye Set Meal (limited) ($200) is a pleasant surprise. Aged pork eye has more fat than sirloin and pork tenderloin, and the meat is tenderer, juicier, and has a stronger meat flavor. It is highly recommended.
Next to the Gillette pork chop there is not only shredded cabbage, but also a ball of mashed potatoes, which tastes good. The shredded cabbage is cut very finely, and you can add sour sauce or sesame paste according to your personal taste. I personally like to add sour sauce to the waffles, which tastes fresh and appetizing, and can also relieve greasiness. When the shredded cabbage was almost finished, the waiter came over to refill the dish, which was worthy of praise.
