It is situated in the Haidian District of northwestern Beijing and comprises three picturesque lakes with small islands within them.
The lakes are connected by bridges. The water is full of lotus flowers in summer and surrounded by tall willow trees. Here and there pavilions offer shade and a place to relax.
There are several groves of splendid bamboo hence its name of "Purple Bamboo Park" - indeed around 50 species of bamboo can be found here. Some of the buildings, bridges and other structures are constructed from the bamboo.
Also of note are the lovely plum blossoms which flower in spring.
The dredging of the lakes and building of the artificial hills dates from the 12th century with further renovations during the Ming dynasty and again in 1959.
It is possible to be rowed on a traditional, covered boat on the lakes.

Zizhuyuan rewards maple to see ginkgo, autumn scenery is good, free
Beijing enjoy autumn colors, not far, free, people are still less! ? Look at this!
Located in Haidian District, the Zizhuyuan Park next to the National Library wins with bamboo scenery, but the cherry blossoms in spring, the ginkgo and red maple in autumn are also very good. When the crowds flock to Xiangshan on weekends, there are often not many people in Zizhuyuan.
Look at Ginkgo: The scale of Ginkgo in Zizhuyuan Park is not as good as that of Diaoyutai, but it is very old and very powerful. From afar, even a few trees are particularly eye-catching and self-contained. When the weather is good, don't bother to look for it. If you go to the most dazzling yellow, you must be ginkgo.
Red Maple: The maple trees in Zizhuyuan are basically ingots, about twenty or thirty. Although it is not a piece of forest, the shape of the tree is very attractive, and the color is gradually reddening, which is very eye-catching. Many people are here to pick up the leaves and take pictures, which is the most beautiful autumn scene.
Practical tips:
Tickets: Zizhuyuan tickets free
Opening time: October-April: Opening time 6:00, stop time 20 :00, closing time 21:00
Traffic information: Get off at the National Library Station of Metro Line 4 and Metro Line 9, and walk on foot.

Zizhuyuan, a park brimming with vitality!
Zizhuyuan is truly a treasure of a park.
Spring boasts the red plum blossoms of the Youxian Guild Hall, as beautiful as those in the south of the Yangtze.
Summer offers the lotus flowers of the oar-touched lotus ferry, as if one has mistakenly entered a realm of lotuses.
Autumn has the red maples and the internet-famous divine tree.
Winter provides a natural ice rink with various types of ice sleds.
But the beauty of Zizhuyuan is far more than these.
Spring in Zizhuyuan is filled with the comfortable vitality of life.
In autumn, the stunning divine tree begins to turn green.
Willows can be seen everywhere, swaying in the wind.
Looking up, one can see the full measure of spring's vitality.
At this moment, the park's 20-minute theory is effective.
Why not find a quiet place away from the flower-chasing crowd?

The Youxian Shanguan located in the northeast corner of Zizhuyuan Park is a typical Jiangnan-style garden complex, consisting of a lake, hall, pavilion, and covered walkways. With its flying eaves and upturned corners, dark tiles and white walls, bamboo groves and plum blossoms, green willows and clear streams, it fully embodies the gentle charm of the Jiangnan water towns.
Adorned with a few blooming red plum trees in the spring, it's simply a breathtakingly beautiful painting.

Spring breeze caresses the face, and apricot and plum blossoms bloom. Hidden in the lesser-known Zizhuyuan Park in Beijing is a mysterious Jiangnan-style garden. The Chinese architecture with white walls and grey tiles contrasts charmingly with the pink flowers, as if you've stepped into a Huizhou-style courtyard. It unfolds like a scroll painting, showcasing the unique charm of Jiangnan. There are dense bamboo paths, crystal-clear lakes, and a breeze carrying the fragrance of flowers, creating an otherworldly paradise of blooms. Take advantage of the sparse crowds and the flowers still in bloom, and hurry over!
📸 For friends who want to go for a photo shoot, it's best to choose a sunny day when the light is soft and the effect is even better. When it comes to a sense of relaxation, the elderly Beijingers at Zizhuyuan Park really know their stuff
Many people post about foreigners lounging on lawns abroad, but when it comes to chilling out, Beijing's seniors are quite adept too.
Upon entering Zizhuyuan, one is not only captivated by the spring scenery but also by the contented demeanor of the retired uncles and aunties.
There are those playing musical instruments, playing chess, taking photographs, engaging in various impressive skills, and some doing things that are simply beyond comprehension.
The most thrilling are the teams singing revolutionary songs.
Singing revolutionary songs really invigorates the spirit and blood!
Just listening to them for a while makes one's blood surge with excitement! It makes me want to join them!
When I retire, I too will come to Zizhuyuan Park to sing revolutionary songs!

Purple Bamboo Park
Purple Bamboo Park
Purple Bamboo Park is located within the West Third Ring of Beijing, near Baishi Bridge in Haidian District, and west of Beijing Capital Stadium. Purple Bamboo Park was established in 1953. It was named after the temple of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the northwest of the park, 'Fuyin Purple Bamboo Courtyard'. It has a unique bamboo garden like the bamboo sea in southern Sichuan, and the Lingstone Meadow landscape of Rabbit Ear Ridge. The park covers an area of 47.35 hectares, of which about one-third is water. The South Long River and Shuangzi Canal pass through the park, forming a basic pattern of three lakes, two islands, one dike, one river and one canal. 【Beijing Literary Youth One-Day Tour Guide】
On weekends in Beijing, we recommend a treasure route to the literary youth, all located around the National Library subway station:
1. Stroll around the Treasure Park 9:30-11:30, 2H
Highlights: The charm of the bamboo sea in southern Sichuan, red leaves, frozen lake surface, feeding pigeons
It's rare to find this treasure park, where the lake surface is covered with a thin layer of ice in early winter, freezing people and moving winter colors. The bamboo sea that can be seen everywhere, the only green that comes on the face, makes people extremely happy. Watching children feed pigeons, watching workers row boats and knock ice, walking around the waist jade bridge, full of comfortable feelings. What makes me even more overjoyed is that I found a tree full of persimmons near the east gate, full of the beautiful implication of "everything goes well".
2. Near the east gate of the park at noon 11:45-12:30, 45min
Eat: The slightly expensive noodles are 45RMB, but they are definitely worth it. The tender yellow eel is hidden in the noodles, and the chewy noodles are unforgettable after eating.
3. In the afternoon, north of Zizhuyuan 12:30-latest 20:00, depending on personal circumstances
Visit: The National Library is divided into the South Pavilion and the North Pavilion, among which
① The South Pavilion is a collection pavilion (that is, the one near Zizhuyuan Park). It has two advantages. One is that it is easier to find a self-study seat than the North Pavilion (store your backpack, bring water, your own books, computers, etc., and you can enter for self-study with a swipe of your card). The second is that there are exhibitions to watch. I watched the free oracle bone script exhibition and the paid Pompeii ancient city (139RMB), both of which are real relics transported from Naples, Italy, which are truly shocking and worth the ticket price.
② The North Pavilion is a holy place for reading and self-study, a popular check-in point, with many locations and many people. It can be said to be a sea of books, and it's no problem to soak in it all day!
TIPS: Bring your ID card for the first time, and apply for a reader card on the self-service machine. Of course, if you really forget to bring it, you can still go in and register
The snow scene of red maple in Zizhuyuan, I'm crying, it's too beautiful
Zizhuyuan is a rare park in Beijing known for its bamboo scenery, a landscape with Jiangnan characteristics,
The red maple is near the Lake Heart Restaurant, and I also found another place with dense red maple🍁
I recommend this super awesome park tour route to everyone👍
🔛Enter from the north gate of the park and walk along the road→Lake Heart Restaurant🍁 (Wen Yue Lou Restaurant)→Bayi Pavilion (the second red maple is here🍁)→Walk around the lake to the west and return to the north gate, or exit from the south gate, you can see three groups of pigeons along the way, but it depends on luck💕
If you have been to the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace and still want to visit a park, don't miss Zizhuyuan Park in winter

The beauty of Beijing's Zizhuyuan Park in late autumn is like a painting
⭐️Zizhuyuan Park is located within the West Third Ring of Beijing, near Baishiqiao in Haidian District, and to the west of the Beijing Capital Gymnasium. It is named after the temple 'Fuyin Zizhuyuan' from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the northwest of the park. The predecessor of Zizhuyuan was actually Zizhu Zen Temple, which was originally the lower court of Wanshou Temple, built in the Ming Dynasty.
⭐️The current Zizhuyuan Park was established in 1953. After the founding of New China, it was transformed into Zizhuyuan Park based on the original temple ruins, surrounding wasteland, abandoned lakes, paddy fields, etc. Many bamboos were planted in the park, which were transplanted from the south and Japan, among which the purple bamboo is the most famous. After many years of construction, it has formed a large-scale landscape park with rich Jiangnan garden characteristics based on bamboo landscaping.
⭐️Zizhuyuan Park is really one of the most low-key parks in Beijing. It is a city-level wetland, no tickets are required, no reservation is needed, and it is there whenever you want to go.
⭐️Watching old couples dancing and walking, grandpas playing badminton, children playing hide and seek, teenagers running in the park, and people like me who are also sitting quietly and staring at each other with a smile.
⭐️There are still many cute little pigeons by the lotus pond this season. If you want to interact more when taking pictures, it is recommended to bring some grain food, so the little pigeons will not be so afraid of people.
⭐️Recommended photo angles
1 Mei Bridge: There is a popular tree in the middle of the island. The branches and trunks of the tree are very dense, which can echo the water surface to take reflections. There is also a lotus stone bridge next to it for portrait photography.
2 Wen Yue Lou Restaurant: The popular large maple tree with falling leaves, half of which has withered, and the remaining can last until this weekend.
3 Tea shop next to the river: The entire river of the South Long River in the park is accompanied by willow trees on both sides, and the golden leaves are floating in the wind.
4 Everywhere: Autumn can be seen everywhere in the park. Wild ducks and pigeons can be seen everywhere, the willow trees on both sides of the road have turned yellow, and the autumn is full of wind.
The autumn scenery of Zizhuyuan is so beautiful, it's like a colorful oil painting painted by a great painter. If you miss it, you have to wait for a year!

The small river in the park is connected to the zoo on the east and the Summer Palace on the west. You can start from the Ziyu Bay pier in the park, all the way along the waterway, directly to the South Ruyi Gate in the Summer Palace! !! Zizhuyuan is known as the small Jiangnan in Beijing! The bamboo rhyme and the garden complement each other, which is very photogenic! You can also meet many people wearing Hanfu taking pictures!
Really, really, it's Zizhuyuan Park in Beijing
Zizhuyuan Park always surprises people. The north wind blows off the ginkgo leaves and also turns the maple leaves red. In Zizhuyuan Park, you can see white walls and red maples, as well as sacred trees of three colors, yellowing willows and the reflection bridge in the water, and a few wild ducks are interesting. Early winter in Beijing, the autumn scenery still remains!
Although Beijing has entered winter, the autumn scenery in Zizhuyuan still remains. The green bamboo forest is covered with yellow leaves, the popular 'god tree' is still lush, occupying the entire heart of the lake island. The willow leaves in the park are still green, the metasequoia has turned yellow, and the maple leaves are red. They all resisted the strong wind a few days ago, and the leaves are still displaying their posture on the trees. Only the tall persimmon tree, with no leaves left, only the persimmons hanging on the branches attracting countless birds to feast on, even the 'Jade Rabbit' in the sky came over drooling, it seems that the tail of autumn in Beijing this year is quite long!
Warm reminder: Zizhuyuan is located in the urban area, parking spaces are tight, it is recommended to take the bus. In addition, the Bamboo Rhyme Restaurant in the park is a big dining hall for tourists and local residents. The most famous is the soy sauce elbow, which is delicious and affordable, but cannot be packed. The salt and pepper and mahjong-flavored sesame buns are also very delicious, not inferior to the old brands. After visiting the park, you can go and taste it.
: Beijing Zizhuyuan Park
March spring breeze, the plum blossoms in the Zizhuyuan.
The park is located near the Baishi Bridge in Haidian District. It is a 4A-level tourist attraction and is open to the public free of charge. There are many citizens in the leisure and entertainment.
Winter skating in the park, boating in the summer, and children's amusement park, the variety is still very rich.
There is a palace in the park. This is quite powerful. It was the palace of the Empress Dowager Cixi. Now the plum blossoms in the palace are open and smelling super sweet. I recommend you to enjoy the flowers.
Zizhuyuan Park is a good place for Hanfu to shoot. The bamboo forest has an ancient feeling. When I went there, I saw several girls who took pictures. There was a Chinese costume and a game coser. Just walking to that station was like walking out of the painting. There was no sense of disobedience. If you want to take the ancient girl, don't miss it. If you are technically high, you can try the feeling of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which is really good! ! !
