Can't get a reservation for the Shaanxi History Museum? No need to rush for the newly opened Qin and Han Dynasty Gallery
As the main venue in China for the International Museum Day on May 18th, the much-anticipated Qin and Han Dynasty Gallery of the Shaanxi History Museum has finally opened! The recently popular 'Morning Court' is in this gallery.
As a new gallery of the Shaanxi History Museum, it boasts a majestic appearance combined with high-tech elements. National treasures such as the Empress's Jade Seal, the Gold-Inlaid Tiger Tally, the Gilded Silver Bamboo Joint Bronze Censer, the Gilded Bronze Silkworm, the Gold Monster, and the Lacquered Pig have all been moved to the new gallery! The famous Changxin Palace Lantern has even been borrowed from the Hebei Museum!
Here comes the key point! Compared to the old gallery where tickets are hard to come by, the new gallery is not yet well known. So, for now, there's no need to rush! No need to rush! No need to rush! You can even make a reservation at the museum entrance! Currently, the Qin and Han Dynasty Gallery only supports reservations through the 'Shaanxi History Museum' official WeChat account. When making a reservation, just select the Qin and Han Dynasty Gallery in the bottom right corner.
1️⃣ How to get there
You can drive yourself as there is a parking lot. As for public transportation, Xi'an Metro Line 14 can take you directly to the Qinpaleis Station, but it's a bit far from the museum, over one kilometer, especially in the summer. The official shuttle bus runs only once an hour, and there are many old men at the metro station offering rides for 3 yuan per person or 5 yuan for two, which is acceptable.
2️⃣ Things to note
It is recommended to reserve 2 to 3 hours for your visit. Upon entering, you can store your luggage for free, and audio guides are available for rent at 15 yuan. Currently, live guides are not available.
3️⃣ Specific tips
Currently, the following areas are open: the Preface Hall + the First and Second Qin and Han Dynasty Exhibition Halls, the City and Mausoleum Exhibition Hall, the Skill and Beauty Exhibition Hall, and the Temporary Exhibition Hall (10th Anniversary of the Silk Road's Application for World Heritage) plus a 4D cinema.

Shaanxi History Museum Qin and Han Dynasties Branch
Many tourists who visit Xi'an hope to check in at the Shaanxi History Museum to learn about the history and culture of the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties on this land, but are often disappointed because they cannot make a reservation. Now, the Shaanxi History Museum has set up a branch in the Qin and Han New City. Although it does not have as many exhibits as the Shaanxi History Museum, it at least allows visitors to make up for their lack of knowledge about the history and culture of the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties, offering some consolation.
The entrance is on the second floor, and there is a rest area on the third floor.
Transportation: Take the subway line 14 to the 'Qin Palace' station, exit from Exit A. Transfer to the Shaanxi History Museum Qin and Han Dynasties Branch scenic area shuttle bus, get off at the Shaanxi History Museum Qin and Han Dynasties Branch stop, and you will arrive.
Online reservations are required on holidays, while no reservation is needed on weekdays. Admission is by real-name registration with an ID card.
