Grasslands, snow-capped mountains, lakes, cattle, and sheep
I love this feeling of nature and wilderness so much
Every place is like Heidi's home with her grandfather
It's like a place out of a Hayao Miyazaki film
It's really suitable for emptying your mind and embracing nature.

Once again, Xinjiang
Ili is a gathering place for the Kazakh ethnic group, so on the first day, we followed the local customs. In Tangbula, we joined this nation of horseback riders to taste milk tea, roast lamb skewers, drink mutton soup, and sleep in a Mongolian yurt. Early in the morning, as the first rays of sunlight touched the grassland, the brave among us wrapped up in our thickest clothes to chase the light; the hosts of the grassland began to milk the sheep. The master said there was also horse milk, which I had never seen and certainly would not be accustomed to its taste, but the mere mention of horse milk filled me with a sense of boldness and a fully charged atmosphere.
We drove towards Fairy Lake, but having taken the wrong road, we had to return the way we came and chose to ride horses instead. We brought thick shawls especially for the trip because, for us, riding horses really required a 'steel butt' that we didn't have! However, when the unexpected happened, we had to bite the bullet and get on the horses. Along the way, I kept thinking, wouldn't a motorcycle be a better choice? After all, it's faster. Passing hikers, we joked interestingly: those who haven't gotten on wish to get on, and those who have regret it. Isn't that the truth? But we just wanted to see that touch of green with our own eyes! And the scenery and local customs along the way, otherwise how could I have seen that mother, who without makeup, seemed to me stunningly beautiful and unforgettable for several days? How could I have come to admire the confidence of the 'sunset red' aunties once again?
Reluctantly leaving Tangbula, the lavender fields of the Tianshan Flower Sea finally awaited us, the adorable ground cover making us jump for joy; in Kanas, cotton candy could be plucked right out of the air, and I brought Hayao Miyazaki's animations into my camera, staging a real-life version of The Wind Rises; in Qiongkushitai, with green grass and a sea of flowers, that's where Heidi and her grandfather lived! The little wooden houses on the grassland, the streams, forests, cattle, and sheep along the way, isn't that the Eastern Switzerland, captivating to the eye; hiking in Shatuo, looking up to see the snow-capped mountains right before our eyes, we kept looking, walking, and rushing towards this goal, never stopping. We also kept exclaiming: in the face of nature, humans are truly insignificant, so what do those human disputes, rights and wrongs, grudges and grievances amount to under such a landscape?
Life is vast, and our eyes should not only see love and being loved, nor should they only see the immediate struggles! When you are confused, go into nature to find the answers!

The flower sea in Yili is so beautiful!
Yili is famous for its wildflower sea, and there is none like it. This year, with abundant rainfall, we chose to come to Yili during the May Day holiday, attracted by the blooming wildflowers. Our plan is D1 from Sayram Lake to Qiongkushitai, D2 to Chaxi, D3 to Kuerdening, D4 to Tangbula, and D5 back to Changji.
As soon as we entered Yili, we could see the hillsides covered with tiny scattered flowers, mainly yellow, with some white flower seas, and also mixed yellow and white, creating a romantic atmosphere everywhere. Along the way, we passed many lush wildflower seas, some charging fees, some free, and some within scenic areas. After comparison, we found the best spot, which not only has yellow and white flower seas but also allows us to see the snow-capped mountains and the Tekes River. Sharing with everyone:
Use Gaode Navigation to search for 'Aortakir'. About 200 meters before the destination, you will see a dirt road that leads into the flower sea. There is a barbed wire fence around it, and a lady at the entrance. This place charges a fee; you can drive in to take photos and camp, 5 yuan per person, and sedans can enter as well. If you drive a vehicle with a higher chassis, you can go further inside, where you will see a road under construction. Follow the road base to find the yellow and white flower sea and the snow-capped mountains and Tekes River, all for free. But be careful to follow the tracks pressed by the herders' vehicles and do not harm the little flowers! ❤️

Ili is wonderful in summer, but you need to know how to enjoy it
Ili is the only region in China that combines a sense of oppression and relaxation perfectly.
But to truly enjoy it, you need some experience and 'principles':
1. Choose between Kuerdening Qiaxi and Shata. It is recommended to use early June as the dividing line, before which Kuerdening Qiaxi is preferable, and after which Shata is better.
2. The way to enjoy Ili is inherently outdoorsy. The difference in scenery between hiking trails and regular routes is huge, and incorporating some outdoor elements into your itinerary is a standard for a profound experience. Some parts can be accessed by off-road vehicles, some by horse, and many only on foot. Qiaxi Kuerdening can include the tail end of the Kalajun traverse, Kalajun can extend to Qiongkushitai or Gazagan Camp, Shata has the Shata Ancient Trail, and even the Yisai Shepherd Trail and Tuhulasi Grassland hiking routes. If you really have no outdoor experience, you could also ride a horse for the first ten kilometers in front of Wusun or behind Qiongkushitai to get a taste, which is much better than just visiting scenic spots every day.
3. The golden period for Ili is mid-May to late June. This is based on a comprehensive score of 'grass + forest + low snow line + temperature'. Too early, and there are fewer grassland options, such as Kalajun not being very green, and Shata having a high frequency of bad weather in the afternoon. Too late, and the weather becomes hot, the snow line disappears, and having only grasslands and forests loses the advantage of the snow-capped mountains.
4. 'There's no point in going to Qiongkushitai if you're not staying overnight' makes sense because Qiongku's absolute advantage lies in its scattered homestay cabins and a leisurely travel mindset, all predicated on 'staying at least one night'; otherwise, you won't be able to relax.
5. In summer, the priority for accommodations in Ili should be lonely homestays with good conditions near scenic spots, followed by homestays with average conditions but good scenery, then experienced camping, then county town hotels, and lastly, homestays with poor conditions and not much scenery. However, the latter is what most people will choose, because they want both... but that's difficult.
6. Ili during the May Day holiday is good, but there are a few things to note. First, try not to attempt pure wilderness camping, as the weather is extremely unstable during May Day, with heavy snowfall every year. Second, don't apply your aesthetic expectations to flowers and vast greenery; appreciating Ili's snow-capped mountains is important.
7. The summer sunsets in Ili are incredibly beautiful, and it's not dangerous to return to your accommodation later, but missing the pink hues in the mountains would be a great pity.
8. Don't think that regular scenic spots are too 'mainstream'. Every scenic spot was once niche and equal in the eyes of the beholder. By using scenic spots as a base for further exploration, rather than blindly heading straight for the mountains, you're more likely to find 'good stuff', just as it's easier to succeed with a franchise than starting an independent brand.

Kujung Qostai is a paradise in my heart, where beautiful scenery is everywhere
After crossing mountains and ridges, I finally saw the long-anticipated Kujung Qostai. The entire village of Qiongkushitai is situated on a plateau, which in the local Kazakh language means 'big platform'. The so-called 'big platform' refers to a relatively large hillside, which is not a single piece but is divided into several 'blocks' by many crisscrossing ravines, with the small village hidden above this green grassland. Moving forward from the entrance of the village, one will find the famous 'Wusun Ancient Trail'. This ancient trail, connecting the Junggar Basin in the north and the Tarim Oasis in the south, traverses the Tianshan Mountains from north to south.
The beauty of Qiongkushitai cannot be fully captured in photos. The Wusun Ancient Trail with its river valleys and streams, the log cabins embraced by snowy ridges and spruce trees, the misty clouds winding through the canyons – all the beautiful adjectives you can think of can be applied here~

Xinjiang Yili | I beg you, if you go horseback riding in Xinjiang, you must wear a horse face skirt
I'm not thin, quite sturdy, and usually wear sportswear. I've flipped through a few outfits that are decent for photos and convenient for movement to share with you all.
Jacket: The scenic spots in the mountains of Xinjiang get very cold as soon as the sun sets, even in June and July, so I suggest bringing a layered jacket.
Qiongkushitai: Horse face skirt + trousers + jacket. I went there for horseback riding, but also had to hike, so I chose to wear my usual trousers under the horse face skirt, which is convenient for hiking. It looks good in photos, and the horse face skirt is also very convenient for riding.
Xiaota: Patterned top + sports pants + jacket. Xiaota requires a long hike, so everyone wears sportswear. A patterned top stands out against all the green and looks good.
Sayram Lake/Qiaxi: Pretty dress + jacket. At Sayram Lake, just focus on looking beautiful, and when it's cold, just drape the jacket over. Qiaxi is almost entirely by car, and walking around the Qiaxi Gallery is not tiring.
Fairy Lake: Pretty dress + jacket. Fairy Lake is also very beautiful, but the whole journey is on horseback.

Just got back from Xinjiang, and I'm going to speak some hard truths from the bottom of my heart
Just got back from Xinjiang, from North Xinjiang to South Xinjiang, I've stumbled into pitfalls, but also seen many beautiful sights. Here are some experiences I've summarized, sharing them with those of you about to travel👏
.
1️⃣The four most worthwhile places to visit
✔️Nalati for the grasslands
✔️Sayram Lake for the lakes
✔️Tianshan Sea of Flowers for the lavender
✔️Kashgar Old City for the history
.
2️⃣The weather really makes a difference!!
▫️The grasslands and lakes in Xinjiang are very much affected by the weather, cloudy and sunny days look completely different
▫️The weather in Xinjiang is changeable, it might be sunny one second and pouring rain the next, remember to bring an umbrella
▫️If you only have one sunny day, head straight for Sayram Lake and circle the lake
·
3️⃣Choose Shipton's Arch carefully if you're not physically fit
✔️If you want to see the snow-capped mountains up close, Shipton's Arch requires a 1-2 hour hike, and the path is not easy, be cautious if traveling with the elderly or children
✔️There's a long queue for the shuttle bus in Shipton's Arch area, try to return before 4 pm
.
4️⃣Even if it's hot, bring warm clothes
Xinjiang has a large temperature difference between morning and evening, and the wind is strong, it's easy to catch a cold and get a runny nose
.
5️⃣Two to three grasslands in Yili are enough
✔️Too much will really lead to aesthetic fatigue! Choose Shipton's Arch if you like snow-capped mountains, Qiongkushitai or Chaxi if you like forests, and Nalati if you like grasslands
✔️You can skip the internet-famous bridge in Nalati, but you must visit the Panlong Valley Road, the most quintessential part is here, 95% of people will miss it
.
6⃣️The golden hours for photography are from 7-10 am and pm
🌞The light is too strong from noon to afternoon, easy to get backlight, and in the evening, you're likely to see the sunset, the sky is golden, great for taking pictures with a mood
By the way, the ultraviolet rays are really strong, make sure to protect yourself from the sun
.

Join a tour or self-drive❓
🔹It is recommended to join a tour, as many of the scenic spots you want to see in Xinjiang are very far away, self-driving is costly, and it's troublesome and delays the trip if you encounter problems on the way, and driving long distances is tiring. It's not enjoyable to visit the scenery with an exhausted body
🔹Although joining a tour is not as free as self-driving, it still gives you time to play, it's worry-free and effortless! A small group of 4-6 people is not expensive and can still enjoy the experience of a free trip, stop wherever you want!

I've decided to go to Xinjiang in May, don't wait until June when it's crowded
Many friends are hesitating whether to go to Xinjiang in May or June, mainly concerning the Ili region.
If you have time in May, set off earlier. The peak tourist season in Xinjiang during the summer holidays of June and July will see more people as students are also on vacation. So, if you want fewer people, come to Xinjiang in May.
👉Many people worry that the grasslands won't be green in May. The answer is that different areas turn green at different times, and not all places are suitable for visiting.
Choose different grasslands for different times.
🔸Late April is suitable for visiting Qiaxi Forest Park and Kuerdening.
🔸Early May is suitable for visiting Kalajun, Nalati, and Qiongkushitai.
🔸Late May is suitable for visiting Tangbula Hundred Mile Gallery.
🔸From June to August, all grasslands are good to go.
👉For those who like hiking, rush to these grasslands:
Kalajun, Kuerdening, Qiongkushitai, Shata Park.
👉For those who like less crowded places, go here:
Qiaxi Forest Park, Tangbula Hundred Mile Gallery, Shata Park, Qiongkushitai.
The slight regret of going to Ili in May is that the Duku Highway is not yet open. The Duku Highway generally opens in mid-June each year and traffic control is implemented by October. So, for a trip to Ili in May, it is recommended to follow this route:
🍃DAY1 Urumqi
🍃DAY2 Urumqi - Dushanzi Grand Canyon - Bole/Jinghe
🍃DAY3 Bole/Jinghe - Sailimu Lake round trip - Guozigou Bridge - Yining
🍃DAY4 Yining - Qiaxi Forest Park/Kuerdening self-drive - Nalati Town
🍃DAY5 Nalati Town - Nalati 'Sky Grassland' - Aikendaban - Tokesun
🍃DAY6 Tokesun - Turpan 'Flaming Mountain' - Kumtag Desert - Urumqi
🍃DAY7 Urumqi
👗Weather and Clothing
Most of Xinjiang is sunny, with temperatures around 20 degrees during the day and around 10 degrees at night in May.
Be sure to bring a windbreaker, a fleece jacket (there is a big temperature difference between day and night, and the temperature changes greatly in scenic areas, and it may rain or snow).
You can also bring a hat➕scarf➕sunglasses. Choose flat, comfortable shoes that are easy to walk in.

After spending a month in Xinjiang, I have some advice on what not to do
Don't ask how much the train ticket costs💰, ask how many years of youth are left. I set off to the northwest of our motherland🇨🇳, wandering around Xinjiang for a month trying to find my lost soul. After coming back, the aftereffect was strong; I often found myself staring blankly at photos.
I've put together this Xinjiang travel guide for you, and if you're thinking of going to Xinjiang, this is all you need❤️
✈️First time to Xinjiang, where to start?
Urumqi, as the transportation hub of Xinjiang, is very convenient👍. Whether you're heading to southern or northern Xinjiang, it's recommended to start from Urumqi because almost all tours and self-drive trips depart from here.
⚠️Things to note
1⃣Time difference: Xinjiang is 2 hours behind the mainland❗️Many ethnic minorities are accustomed to using Xinjiang time
2⃣Security checks: Security checks in Xinjiang are very strict, with multiple checks required at train stations and airports, so it's advised to go to the station/airport early.
🏠Accommodation recommendations:
1⃣Urumqi: Recommended to stay in the Youhao or Zhongshan Road shopping districts
Kanas: Recommend staying in the city district of Beitun, followed by Jiadengyu or Burqin
2⃣Hemu: Recommend staying in the scenic area's log cabins, where you can watch the starry sky at night and increase your playtime during the day for a better experience❤️
3⃣Sailimu Lake: It's recommended to stay in Qingshuihe Town or Huocheng County
🚙Our self-drive route
Departing from Urumqi, we drove through Sailimu Lake—Huocheng—Zhaosu—Tekes—Qiongkushitai—Nalati—Duku Highway, and finally returned to Urumqi from Dushanzi
The route is a circle⭕️ and is considered a classic Ili loop
ps: The entire self-drive journey took 12 days, covering a total of 2300 kilometers, without rushing to destinations. We often drove for 5-6 hours a day⏰ I think it's necessary to rest and maintain a good state⭐️
🗻Must-visit attractions
📍Qiongkushitai
Meadows that stretch as far as the eye can see, fairy-tale-like foggy forests, log cabins with grass roofs, every sight is super healing
📍Huocheng Lavender
Fields of purple flowers that ripple with the wind, truly romantic🔥
📍Tangbula Fairy Lake
A little-known secret place that requires horseback riding up the mountain, accompanied by fresh flowers all the way, as if in Alice's Wonderland👍
📍Nalati Grassland
Aerial grasslands and valley grasslands are absolutely stunning for aerial photography and self-driving!
📍Sailimu Lake
'The last tear of the Atlantic'💧If you have enough time, you must go for a self-drive around the lake
📍Duku Highway
A road you must drive on once in your life! It usually opens around mid-June each year, experiencing all four seasons along the way.
🥙Xinjiang Cuisine
Xinjiang's big plate chicken👍, lamb skewers, roasted lamb ribs, rack of lamb, roasted buns are really amazing, perfect for those who like strong flavors❗️
ps: There's also old yogurt, cold-water fish, hand-pulled rice, bao meat, and laghman noodles

Comparable to little Switzerland, have you ever been to Yili, Xinjiang?
Perhaps for most people, the impression of Xinjiang is roughly like this
Blue sky, white clouds⛅️, meadows, primeval forests🌳, and herds of livestock🐑
No❗️No❗️No❗️ It's not just these,
There are also landscapes of various colors
The azure Kanas Lake💦, snow-capped mountains🏔️, glaciers🧊, etc.
Here I dare say!! It's more beautiful than Switzerland, more healing than abroad
Xinjiang's spring, summer, autumn, and winter can definitely overturn your perception of beautiful scenery
From September to December, Yili will also be filled with meadows, snow mountains, and autumn scenes🍂
If you have enough time🕐, you must go and experience it
A place like those from Miyazaki's films, you can rush there now~~
🏠Location: Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture
Located in the northern part of the Tianshan Mountains in the western part of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
🚗Transportation: There are ✈️airports within Yili, such as the Nalati Airport in Xinyuan and the Zhaosu Tianma Airport, and you can also reach Yili by train🚄
🎡Tourism: Yili is very large, you can go on a self-driving trip with a group of friends AA-style, or find a chartered driver to take a mature route, which is also a very worry-free choice
Sharing a few suitable places in Yili for checking in🈴️✌️✌️
➡️Horgos
The exhibition halls here are very nice, you can experience the local culture and customs, and there are many fruits🥭 and local delicacies nearby
➡️Duku Highway
It takes 40 minutes to reach here from Nalati, and on the way to Bayinbuluke, you can see a lot of natural scenery, which is really superb
➡️Tekes Hexagonal Town
Mostly here are retro folk streets, living here or experiencing the culture is very nice
➡️Qiongkushitai
Known as the 'back garden of Kalajun', the nearly pristine natural scenery, the magnificent combination of grasslands and fir forests, is simply a secret realm
➡️Zhaosu Xiatage
A paradise for hiking🥾 enthusiasts, the terrain here is very complex, snow mountains, grasslands, glaciers, and rapids form an unspoiled ecological wonderland
➡️Kalajun
The mountains undulate like waves in the sea, with a well-defined shape, very much like the curvaceous figure of a young girl
➡️Bayinbuluke (Wetland Grassland)
At sunset, you can witness the magical place of 'nine suns🌞', only when you see this magical scene will you exclaim, it can be so beautiful here
➡️Tangbula Hundred-Mile Corridor (Grassland)
Horses, cattle, sheep, flowers, lakes, climb up to the small pavilion in the evening, and watch the magnificent sunset here
➡️Kuerdening (Grassland)
Located between Tekes and Nalati, this place is known as 'the most beautiful green valley of the Tianshan Mountains', the home of the snow ridge spruce🌲🌲

The guesthouse surrounded by grasslands in Qiongkushitai is really suitable for lying flat and daydreaming
After staying at the Qiongkushitai Wanqingji guesthouse, it feels like being in a world apart, away from the hustle and bustle, enjoying a truly relaxed and free sensation.
The guesthouse is a Kazakh log cabin, nestled deep in the grasslands, surrounded by grasslands, and you would never discover it if you weren't staying here.
The room's oversized floor-to-ceiling windows bring the grasslands and snow-capped mountains into view, and by opening the balcony door, you can step right into nature. The room's private balcony is a great respect for the privacy of guests.
Judging the quality of a guesthouse, service is the most important, and the highest level of service is not enthusiasm, not thoughtfulness, but that all services are just right. This guesthouse is exactly like that,
Such a beautiful and comfortable guesthouse really makes one want to stay here forever.

Traveling to Yili, searching for the meaning of life
In this vast world, as time flows, life is fleeting. Perhaps we are often trapped in the cage of life, or perhaps we are often troubled by the trivialities of reality.
We are all searching, searching for a place filled with freedom and joy. When I think of freedom and vitality, the first thing that comes to my mind is the forests and grasslands of Yili, where there is the wind of the wilderness, the drooping grass, the vast grasslands, and the expansive snow-capped mountains.
In the embrace of Yili, countless vivid stories grow in my heart, with brilliant gatherings, thrilling adventures, and even moments facing the grasslands with spring warmth and blooming flowers, far from the hustle and bustle of the world.
Thus, dreams begin to sprout in my heart. I long to set foot on that distant land of Yili, to spend the summer of my dreams.
Finally, I embarked on the journey. The rolling meadows and beautiful scenery that once invaded my dreams are now under my feet, within my sight.
In the grasslands of Yili, I discovered that what once troubled me, made me anxious, and even drove me crazy, was actually just a seed in this vast grassland.
When I merge the sea of bitterness in my heart into Sayram Lake, it becomes a soft blue, and I can no longer see the sorrows of the past.
I start to look forward to traveling through Tekes without traffic lights, holding up a piece of perennial ice and snow on the mountains, searching for a white cloud in the forest sea, carrying the childhood dreams in my heart, lighting a bonfire in the desert, illuminating the starry Milky Way in the sky.
Perhaps this is the meaning of travel. It gives us the opportunity to see with our own eyes the beauty of the world that cannot be expressed in words, and after many twists and turns, to find the land that can soothe our souls.
My journey to Yili is like an open diary, recording every bit of my time there. From the pick-up in Urumqi, to the tranquility of Sayram Lake, to the romance of the lavender manor, the simplicity of Qiongkushitai, the mystery of Tekes, the beauty of Narati, the ruggedness of the Duku Highway, the grandeur of the Dushanzi Grand Canyon, to the winding of the S101 National Defense Highway, and finally back to the warmth of Urumqi.
I hope that we can all find our own spiritual home in the wilderness of Yili, and find the true meaning of travel.

Qiongkushitai, this homestay surrounded by the grasslands, has an amazing view from the window!
Qiongkushitai
The most comfortable thing about summer is the lazy idleness.
On the grasslands, you can do nothing at all,
just feel the breeze, watch the sky,
and experience the relaxation that the pure natural summer brings.
Wandering in the natural scenery,
empty your mind, stretch out your tired body and soul.
A more passionate and fleeting summer is about to begin,
though the days here are long,
it's like falling into a midsummer night's dream.
Everything about the Qiongkushitai Wanqing Collection Homestay,
is beautiful yet surreal.

Xinjiang's Kanas is very remote, but it is incredibly beautiful
This place really feels like a secret realm cut off from the world, hidden deep within the mountains, with rolling hills, alpine meadows, snowy forests, herds of cattle and sheep, and the wooden cottages of primitive villages. The various landscapes are interwoven together, truly forming a picturesque scene.

✔️Tour Route
1️⃣, Alpine Lake Route
5 hours back and forth by horse, 9 hours if hiking
2️⃣, Kalajun Route
The whole journey is 18km, takes about 4 hours
3️⃣, Ushun Ancient Trail Route
2 hours back and forth, if you are short on time it is recommended to take this route, but the scenery is not as good as the other two routes.
✅Travel Tips
, It takes about 3 hours from Tekes to Kanas, there are many winding roads, be careful when driving.
, It is recommended to stay for 2 days here, one day is not enough, especially if you include time for taking photos.
, I think the most beautiful scenery is behind the mountain, with grasslands, steeds, snow-capped mountains, and wooden cottages, which requires about 3 hours of hiking.
, The temperature on the mountain changes a lot, you need to bring a thick coat.
.

SLOAN MORAN
How does one travel in Yili, Xinjiang?
1⃣️Recommended route for Yili River Valley in Xinjiang: Sailimu Lake—Karakojun—Qiongkushitai—Xiahta. Among them, only Qiongkushitai does not require a ticket and can be entered for free.
2⃣️If one travels to Xinjiang alone and charters a car to tour the Yili River Valley route, you can book a charter driver online in advance, the price will be relatively cheaper than offline, during the off-season in May and June, the daily charter price is about 200-300 yuan per day.
3⃣️If one goes to Xinjiang alone and wants to minimize transportation costs, you can first fly or take a train to Urumqi, then transfer to the capital city of Yili, Yining by train. However, you need to coordinate with the charter driver to see whether to depart from Urumqi or Yining.
4⃣️If the travel time is not very ample, you can choose the attractions around Yining, like Karakojun, Qiongkushitai, take a bus to Tekes first, which takes two hours, and the fare is 31 yuan per person. Then there are shuttle buses to and from the two attractions in the urban area of Tekes County. The round-trip fare varies from 100-200 yuan per person.
5⃣️The best time to travel in the Yili River Valley is in May and early June, avoiding the peak travel period, the scenery is beautiful and the prices have not yet risen.
6⃣️The daily accommodation fee in the off-season, if you only choose in small county towns, varies from 100-200 yuan per night, so the overall cost for five days, excluding the transportation cost to Xinjiang, is about 5000 yuan fluctuating up and down.
ADDYSON BANKS
I made a special trip to Xinjiang for the back mountain!
📸The sunny Qiongkushitai, it's just like the real version of 'Heidi and Grandpa'!
On the first day, it was drizzling, and I drove 3 hours on the mountain road to get to this popular Qiongkushitai, and I swore at the time that I would never come again.😭
As a result, the sky cleared up the next day, the rain stopped, and when I ran to the back mountain to take a look, I instantly felt that I was fine again!😁
There are towering primitive forests, snow-capped mountains close at hand, and healing grassland cabins!
💰Tourism costs:
Qiongkushitai has not been developed into a scenic spot, so there is no admission fee. This has both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage is that it retains its original flavor; the disadvantage is that although it is not a scenic spot, the price of homestays in the town that can't see the scenery from the window is not low, let alone the back mountain. In addition, management is a bit chaotic.
🐎The horse teams in the whole village are managed uniformly, and the prices are as follows:
80 yuan/hour, 288 yuan/half day, 488 yuan/all day.
🎯Tourism strategy:
📍The main places to visit are the back mountain and the Wusun Ancient Road.
🚶You can drive halfway up the back mountain, and then park and walk in. This is the most famous place in Qiongkushitai, it's really beautiful! If you don't take pictures, you can reach the popular swing on the top of the mountain in about an hour. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and you don't necessarily have to climb to the top if you're tired. You can also find a horse team to ride up the mountain, which takes about 3 hours back and forth. If you take pictures for a long time, you need more time.
🛤The entrance to the Wusun Ancient Road is in the village, and you can go for a walk. The scenery near the entrance is also very beautiful. If you want to walk the whole way, it may take a long time, usually choose to ride a horse.
🚶Another niche way to play is to hike or ride a horse to Kala Jun, but this is not a day's play.
🤔Overall, Qiongkushitai is very beautiful! But I suggest staying for more than 2 days. If it's just a short stay, I don't recommend coming, after all, it takes 3 hours to drive from Teks, and most of it is mountain roads, which is a bit troublesome.😣

Winter expedition to Qiongkushitai
On the second day of the New Year's Ili Ring Line, we set foot on the mysterious Qiongkushitai. Due to the rise in temperature, the snow on the road has turned into mud, and the mud, horse dung, and sheep dung along the way really caught us off guard😲, as if to say: 'Hey, this is the real original ecology!'
But it is such originality and nature that let us see a more pure forest scenery. 🌲🍃 The uncarved beauty of nature is unmatched by any man-made landscape. We traverse this primitive land, as if entering a fairyland isolated from the world.
Qiongkushitai, a place full of challenges and surprises. Although the journey is a bit difficult, those beautiful sceneries and unique experiences have become the most unforgettable memories of our trip. 💖✨
So, if you also want to experience a different trip, why not come to Qiongkushitai for an adventure! 🚀🌈 Here, you will discover the magic and beauty of nature, and also gain an unforgettable travel experience.

Qiongkushitai in Yili: A Free Journey into the Fairy Tale World
Every step is a scene, Qiongkushitai in Yili seems like a page torn from a fairy tale book. The stream is gurgling, cows and horses are leisurely strolling, snow mountains are quietly watching in the distance, and the village is gently surrounded by the forest.🌳🐮🐴🏔️
Here, the wind is free, it gently strokes every leaf, plays with the stream, and talks with the cows and horses. We also seem to be infected by this freedom, forgetting the shackles of the world, and our souls are freely soaring between heaven and earth.🍃🕊️
Qiongkushitai, a place that fascinates people. Come on, let's break into this fairy tale world together and feel the pure and free beauty.✨💖

Traveling in Hanfu·Xinjiang Yili Edition
🌟 At Qiongkushitai, I tried the unique experience of riding a horse in Hanfu. There weren't many tourists there, as if the whole world belonged to me alone, it was simply too cool! Along the way, people often praised my outfit, which made me feel very proud.
🌨️ Due to weather conditions, our original plan to go to Hemu had to be changed. But unexpectedly, this change brought us unexpected surprises. The winter in Yili is as beautiful as a fairyland, which is amazing!
💖 I want to say that everyone really doesn't have to run to Hemu. Yili is also a place worth visiting, and there are relatively few tourists, so you can enjoy the beauty of this land more freely. I had an unparalleled experience here, it was simply too great!
📸 If you also have the chance to travel to Xinjiang, why not try riding a horse in Hanfu and travel around Yili. Believe me, this will be an unforgettable memory in your life! Remember to capture your beautiful moments and share them with me! 💌

Just got back, 8 days and 7 nights of free travel in Xinjiang in winter, costing an average of 3k+ per person
‼️ Xinjiang is really big, and each place is far apart, basically half of the time is spent on the road, so it is recommended to either join a customized small group, or find a master to charter a car (Xinjiang in winter has low visibility in heavy fog, plus slippery roads in snow, so be sure to find an experienced master!! We saw a lot of cars stuck in the snow on the road, if you drive by yourself, be careful, safety is the most important!!)
❄️Asked a few group routes are similar, basically not very reasonable, there are 2 days of the itinerary all on the road, if you can follow our route is a customized small group, asked feel more expensive, so excluded this!
‼️In the end we chose to charter a car, and then one person with a similar route to us, he shared a car with us.
☀️The original plan was Sailimu Lake, Hemu, Kanas, but due to the closure of Hemu, we turned to the following route, this itinerary is not rushed, is a very comfortable tour, really surprised, every day is good weather, every day to see different scenery, marvel at the beauty of nature! I think Qiongkushitai is a surprise, not inferior to Hemu! Actually, it should be 7 days in Xinjiang, and the last day we went to Xi'an!
🍒Reminder: Southerners say that Xinjiang is quite cold in winter, so be sure to bring enough warm things! In addition to warm coats, snow boots, earmuffs, hats and so on as much as possible! I also have a lot of experience in dressing, and I will write a separate article!

I thought Xinjiang's Hemu was already beautiful enough, until I came here!
What you want to see, canyons, rivers, snow-capped mountains, log cabins, are all here. The degree of commercialization here is very low, like a paradise. You can see Kazakh and Kyrgyz shepherds here, as well as pine forests covered with white snow and distant snow-capped mountains.
🏁Location: Qiongkushitai Scenic Area
🚶🏻Route: Back Mountain Sunrise ➡️ Log Cabin Village ➡️ Life Swing ➡️ Forest Snowfield ➡️ Front Mountain Sunset
📷Recommended Check-in:
1️⃣Front Mountain Sunset
The most beautiful viewing spot for mountain sunsets, a whole land reserved by the gods. There is no commercialization, in winter there is only white snow, camera, and you.
2️⃣Back Mountain Sunrise
The first ray of sunlight rises here, where you can see the legendary sunrise on the golden mountain.
3️⃣Life Swing
One of the most photogenic places in Qiongkushitai, sitting on the swing, I can swing here all day.
4️⃣Log Cabin
The log cabins here are no less beautiful than Hemu, and they are well-arranged, possibly even more beautiful than Hemu.
⚠️Tour Tips:
❶Winter in Xinjiang is very cold, it is recommended to wear thicker clothes, down jackets must be worn, gloves, hats, ear bags, warm babies should be well prepared
❷If you drive by yourself, it is recommended to rent a four-wheel drive car, there are many icy roads
❸You can bring some small shooting props, such as red and blue scarves, lights, black umbrellas, etc., to shoot atmospheric photos here
