Jiuhua Mountain: Simplicity and Splendor
Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area is one of the first batch of national key scenic spots, a national 5A-level tourist area, a national model of civilized scenic tourism area, and one of the first batch of national natural and cultural dual heritage sites. Jiuhua Mountain, together with Mount Wutai in Shanxi, Mount Putuo in Zhejiang, and Mount Emei in Sichuan, is known as one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China.
Must-visit attractions:
1. The True Body Hall, commonly known as the 'Flesh Body Hall' or 'Flesh Body Pagoda', is located on the top of Laoye Peak. It is the main venue for Buddhists to pay homage to the sacred Jiuhua site.
2. Shiwang Peak is located on the south side of Tiantai Peak of Jiuhua Mountain. The two peaks are connected by a ridge, with an altitude of 1342 meters, making it the highest peak of Jiuhua Mountain.
3. The Great Mercy Treasure Hall is a new hall expanded by the Tanlin Temple after the reconstruction of the mountain gate in 1988. The hall was built by the abbot of Tanlin Temple, Master Huishen, who made a great vow. The entire engineering design is classically elegant and magnificently grand.
4. The Hundred-Year Palace, built during the Ming Dynasty, was originally named 'Zhaixing An', also known as 'Wannian Chan Temple'. Along with Gion Temple, Dongya Temple, and Ganlu Temple, it is one of the 'Four Great Jungles' of Jiuhua Mountain.
Tips: During the off-peak tourist season, you can drive up to Jiuhua Mountain by yourself, and there is a parking lot in the core area of the mountain. You can stay overnight on the mountain, walk through the ancient town, and try some local specialties.
There are two cableways on Jiuhua Mountain. One is the Jiuhua Mountain Cableway, also known as the Tiantai Cableway, with the lower station located 150 meters north of the Dajue Temple in a depression, and the upper station located 20 meters south of the Muyu Peak in a mountain hollow, spanning the Minyuan and Tiantai core scenic areas. The other is the Hundred-Year Palace Cable Car, starting from the Gion Temple in the jungle and going up to the thousand-year-old temple, the Hundred-Year Palace, which enshrines the true body of the Ming Dynasty monk Wuxia. It is recommended for those who are not physically strong to take the cableway up the mountain.
BlissfulHolidays
The beautiful Jiuhua Mountain, the devout Buddhist path
A day trip to Jiuhua Mountain, arrive in Chizhou at 12:30 in the afternoon, and leave Chizhou at 13:30 the next day.
Transportation: It's fast and safe to get to Chizhou by high-speed rail. The station exit is not big, and the Jiuhua Mountain Tourist Information Center is on the right hand side after exiting. Here you can buy the for 50 yuan. This ticket is for the bus from the entrance of Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area to the mountain and the eco-car in Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area. The round trip from the high-speed rail to Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area is free, but there are only 5 shifts a day, so be sure to check the time! Specific usage will be explained by the staff on the bus, be sure to listen carefully! You can also buy cable car tickets for several scenic spots on the bus, which is very convenient.
The journey from the high-speed rail station to Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area takes about 50 minutes. Please note that the entire scenic area is mainly divided into three lines:
1. Flower Terrace Line (free ride with the transportation ticket), mainly for sightseeing. Take the eco-car from the entrance of the scenic area to the mountain, the journey takes about 8 minutes. After getting off, you can choose to walk up the mountain (about 3 hours) or take the cable car up the mountain (about 15 minutes). Standing on the ridge and looking at the beautiful scenery, the continuous mountains are all in sight, which makes people can't help but praise the great rivers and mountains of the motherland, sigh at the shortness of life, and hope to travel all over the rivers and mountains of the motherland in their lifetime.
2. Worship Buddha on Jiuhua Mountain (free ride with the transportation ticket), devoutly worship Buddha. Take the eco-car from the entrance of the scenic area to the mountain, the journey takes about 30 minutes. After getting off the bus, Zhiguan Temple is on the left hand side. Because it is under construction and renovation, it is hard to see. You can also visit it on the way back. The entire entrance is under road construction, so the road is a bit hard to find. After getting off the bus, there is a sign, a Y-shaped fork in the road. Going to the left front leads to the main street area, where you can see Zhandan Zen Temple, Huacheng Temple, and Yueshen Baodian (there are two doors, the main door and the west door. The west door is on the bus route to Tiantai Zen Temple. After worshipping at Yueshen Baodian, you will come to a small courtyard selling souvenirs. The steps going up the mountain lead to Xiaotiantai, and the steps going down are the exit of Yueshen Baodian. There are also many temples along the way, you can visit them on your own). Going to the right front will take you to the bus station of Tiger Mountain. The end point of this bus is the cable car station of Tiantai Zen Temple. The cable car costs 120 yuan for a round trip, 5 minutes one way, and the cable car stops at 5 pm. After getting off the cable car, it takes about an hour and a half to climb up to Tiantai Zen Temple. On the way, you will pass by the ancient worship platform. Here are the footprints left by the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva during his practice, which is very shocking. The steps along the way are quite steep, and there is snow and ice, so be careful. My legs and feet are quite fast, and it took me 2 and a half hours for the whole journey. I returned to the main street of Jiuhua before 5 o'clock.
3. Dayuan Cultural Park, due to time constraints, I didn't go. It's just at the entrance of the scenic area, you can easily see the towering Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Walking towards him will take you to the entrance.
Cost: I live in Jiuhua Street area. I looked at the distribution of homestays for a long time before the trip, but it's still not quite the same as the actual location. The accommodation price is similar to that on Ctrip, about 400 per night. I live in a more remote location from the main street area, near the west gate of Yueshen Baodian. The price of the tatami room is less than 200, which is acceptable!
Food, Chongqing noodles for dinner, 25 yuan, vegetarian noodles for breakfast, 20 (a noodle shop on the right hand side down the mountain after worshipping at Yueshen Baodian, the aunt is very nice, the soup base is freshly made, without too much seasoning, the aunt gave me some extra blanched small green vegetables, you can try it), the taste is very good, the price is uniform in the scenic area. If you come to worship Buddha, don't eat meat.
There are too many guides, and people who have been there say it's lively. You have to take the first step to know what it's like. Everyone sees different scenery, has good intentions, and good luck follows. The heart is far away, aren't your feet following? I wish everyone a smooth journey!

Jiuhua Mountain|No-cost mother and child prayer and mountain climbing day trip guide
Jiuhua Mountain, a famous spot among one of the four major Buddhist mountains in China, can give you a place to entrust, whether it's kinship, friendship or love, put down some of your troubles, give yourself some space and time.
In Su Shi's pen, Jiuhua Mountain is 'Bi Xia is dressed, crowned with green langgan'
In the poem of Li Bai, it is 'The Milky Way hangs green water and shows nine lotus flowers'.
Drive to the parking lot, when I went there, the visitor center above was under maintenance, I went to the 3rd parking lot, the entrance ticket is 160/person, the scenic bus is 50/person, the cable car one-way is 85 yuan, round-trip joint ticket is 160/person, children 1.2 meters - 1.4 meters cable car is 70 yuan, not half price.
Xiaotiantai Temple (Dragon Head Temple) - Flesh Hall (three incense, circle three times) - (down the 81 steps of the south gate) Shangchan Hall, Jinsha Spring - pick up water to wash eyes and hands pat forehead Jiuhua Street - Huacheng Temple - Bai Sui Palace Pray for Chan Temple Ten Thousand Buddha Hall
Because I was going to Chaji Ancient Town at night, I didn't go to Bai Sui Palace. The above route takes about three to four hours to visit with children and the elderly, depending on everyone's physical strength, bring some snacks for the children, water, it's also convenient to buy things on the route. Wear light and sports shoes, the baby can walk all the way at the age of 5 years and three months. For reference only, each baby's physique is different, we walk and rest, the child's physical strength is better than mine, haha.
