5 minutes walk from Shoinjinjamae Station on the Tokyu Setagaya Line I went to Shoinjinja Shrine! As you walk through the shopping street right next to the station, you will see the shrine's torii gate. It seems that many people come for shrine visits and Shichigosan, so it was crowded today as well. To the right of the shrine grounds is a reproduction of the Shokasonjuku school, a great place for history lovers. To the left of the grounds is a building where you can buy amulets and votive plaques. There is also a parking lot and a large park next to the shrine. The shopping street leading to the shrine also has a variety of stylish cafes and delicious looking restaurants, so it is highly recommended for a stroll! #shrine #history

I went to a French bistro 🥂 near Shoinjinja Station on the Setagaya Line for lunch 🫧! There are four courses for lunch, and the three courses other than the plate lunch came with bread and coffee or tea. On the day I went, the appetizers were chicken liver mousse, summer vegetable terrine, and salmon carpaccio, and since I wanted to eat carpaccio, I went for course B, which was one appetizer + main dish + dessert! For the main course, I had beef skirt steak 🥩! For dessert, I had chocolate cake. The menu changes depending on the day, so I'd like to go again!! A Korean restaurant 🇰🇷 located about a 2-minute walk from Shoin Jinja-mae on the Setagaya Line. I was able to eat lunch for around 1,000 yen! The main menu had many varieties, including chicken, tteokbokki, cheese dak galbi, and chijimi!! I ordered the chicken lunch set! I thought it looked spicy, but it wasn't that spicy when I ate it! Basically, the chicken for lunch is yangnyeom, but if you ask the staff, you can change it to a flavor on the main menu☺️ I was interested in the garlic soy sauce flavor, so I think I'll try that next time. Shoin Shrine This shrine is located at 4-35-1 Wakabayashi, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, and is dedicated to Yoshida Shoin. Inside you'll find the graves of great men from the end of the Edo period and a replica of the Shoka Sonjuku school. Get off at Shoinjinja-mae Station on the Tokyu Setagaya Line, and walk about 3 minutes north along Shoinjinja-dori shopping street. #summertrip

#FuriTabi Shoin Shrine in Setagaya, Tokyo⛩️ This shrine enshrines Yoshida Shoin, an educator from the late Edo period. The shrine is said to offer benefits such as protection from misfortune and prayers for success in exams. The area where Shoin Shrine is located has a very quiet atmosphere. On the approach to the shrine is the Shoin Shrine Street shopping street, which was fun because there were many privately owned shops. The sweet sake was delicious~☺️ I took the Setagaya Line streetcar to Shoin Shrine. There are only a few places in Tokyo where you can ride a streetcar, so it was a new experience! One of his disciples was executed at the young age of 30, and so he was enshrined here! There is a replica of the Shokasonjuku school in Yamaguchi Prefecture within the temple grounds, and you can see inside.
