I'm spending the New Year in Shirahama. I thought there would be fireworks, but they might have been cancelled due to the weather. I went to the shrine to experience the atmosphere and also got some amulets and fortune slips. Remember not to let emotions cloud your judgement. My first resolution for 2024 is to quit drinking. My stomach really can't take it anymore. I vomited all day on the first day and rested for a whole day. But the guesthouse is really beautiful and comfortable. It's just like the Japanese-style houses in my mind, facing the sea. Watching the stars and the moon with my best friend, I think of the people who watched the stars with me in the past. I really cried. I like the quiet sound of the waves and the joy of watching the starry sky without light pollution. Who really understands... Shirahama is really beautiful. The water of the Western Pacific is so clear. Although the wind is strong, the sand on Shirahama Beach is airlifted from Australia. Everywhere you look is blue and sea water.

I went to Nanki Shirahama for two days and one night. I visited Sandanbeki, Shirarahama, Engetsuto, and the Minakata Kumagusu Memorial Site. The beach season was over and the travel discounts were not yet in effect, so the water was very clear and beautiful. I picked up shells that had fallen on the shore, spent my time in a different way than usual, and it was a place where I could wash away all the dirt from my heart. There were not many people there, so I took a relaxing bath in the hotel's hot spring in the evening and the next morning. Even though I don't like hot springs and have no interest in them, the hot springs in Shirahama were amazing and I got addicted to them. I didn't eat at the hotel that night, but went to eat shellfish nearby, and then went to another restaurant and ate moray eel, sashimi, and grilled frog legs that I cooked myself on a net.
