Qingdao | One of the Six Ancient Temples - Dashi Temple (12.4)
⭐⭐The best thing about Dashi Temple is that you can visit it together with Wushan Mountain, as they are on the same hiking route.
🌟Location:
Qingdao Shihwan Dashi Temple is located in Shihwan Community, Shazikou Subdistrict Office, Laoshan District, Qingdao City, in the picturesque Shihwan Forest Park.
📜History:
Shihwan Dashi Temple is one of the six ancient temples in Qingdao, with a history dating back to the Wei and Jin Dynasties, and was expanded during the Zhengde to Jiajing periods of the Ming Dynasty. The temple is named after the Guanyin Bodhisattva, and is a sub-temple of Chaohai Temple. It was an important place for Buddhist activities in the Laoshan area in history. The architecture of Dashi Temple is elegant and solemn, with a large area, and adopts the traditional Buddhist temple architectural style, including halls, monks' quarters, guest rooms, and other buildings.
🚌Transportation:
It is best to drive or take a taxi, as there is a free parking lot. Navigate to Dashi Parking Lot🅿. If you can transfer to Bus 418, you can take Bus 418 to Taoling Road Wushan Fourth Road Station.
🍂Ginkgo Environment in Late Autumn:
In late autumn, the ginkgo leaves of Shihwan Dashi Temple turn golden and cover the ground. Now, there is a tree that has almost lost all its leaves, and another tree that will probably lose all its leaves in about a week. You can still take photos of the ginkgo trees if you go now.

Report! I found the most beautiful ginkgo kingdom in Qingdao.
The world is full of joy
Only ginkgo trees never fail autumn
Year after year
Another autumn
It's also the sixth year we've been chasing autumn hand in hand
This time we found a new surprise
📍Shiwanda Temple
🚙Parking lot available, just a hundred meters away
👉🏻Two ancient ginkgo trees over 300 years old bring late autumn to the temple. The leaves are slowly turning yellow, and now is the best time to visit. In a few days, the leaves will turn completely yellow and cover the ground, making the scenery even more beautiful.
‼️Photos were taken on the afternoon of November 24. We went there in the afternoon, and there weren't many people. If you wait patiently, you can find a good spot to take photos. The leaves are currently yellow and green. I used a filter to make them look all yellow. The real effect can be seen in the last photo. It's beautiful with or without a filter, and worth seeing in person.
㊙️Nearby attractions include Wushan Mountain, Shilaoren, and Shazikou, which you can visit together.
The temple is simple, quiet, and solemn
The ginkgo trees are golden, dazzling, and enthusiastic
The stillness and movement complement each other
Life is often like this

This is the Qingdao Dashisi Temple!
Qingdao Dashisi Temple is a relatively niche temple, with few people and a good environment.
📍Address: Wushan Mountain Range, Laoshan District, Qingdao, Shandong Province.
🎫Tickets: Free.
🚗Transportation: Navigate to the Shiwanda Dashisi Temple Parking Lot, parking is free.
The temple was first built during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, expanded during the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of nearly a thousand years.
The ancient temple is hidden in the mountains and forests, with winding paths leading to secluded places, clear springs and streams, and beautiful natural scenery.
☑️Tour Suggestions
You can first visit the temple buildings, feel the historical and cultural atmosphere, and appreciate the ancient architectural art.
Then stroll along the mountain paths, enjoy the natural scenery, and relax.

I made a special trip to see two century-old ginkgo trees on the weekend.
I didn't expect that after so many years in Qingdao, it was my first time to check in at Dashi Temple. Dashi Temple is located in the Wushan Mountains in Laoshan District. It is a national 3A-level scenic spot and a forest park in Qingdao.
It is more convenient to drive there, and there are free parking spaces. However, there are not many parking spaces, so it is a good idea to come here on weekends.
Dashi Temple was built in the Northern and Southern Dynasties and expanded during the Zhengde and Jiajing periods of the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of nearly a thousand years.
The scenery here is beautiful, and the four seasons are distinct. In spring, there are azaleas all over the mountains, in summer, there are blue seas and blue skies, in autumn, there are golden ginkgo trees, and in winter, there are plain clothes and silver.
Especially the two ancient ginkgo trees in front of the temple gate, which are more than 500 years old, are just right for this season.
