We loved lying by the sofa at night facing the balcony listening to the waves crashing against the rocks. Head to the beach in the morning after a delicious buffet breakfast for a simple kayak, or just laze by the hammock by the sea while enjoying the cooling sea breeze. The water is very shallow, making this very suitable for families with kids! In the afternoon, have a tipple or light bites by the pool while enjoying the afternoon sun! Food choices are limited to within the resort, but you can be assured food choices are plenty with 3 different restaurants to cater to different needs- local indonesian food is simply delicious here! A Hidden Sanctuary for Our 15th Anniversary back in year 2023… 📍The Residence Bintan Tucked away at the far end of The Residence Bintan lies a gem that most guests will never see… “the Sanctuary Villa.” Which you have to book directly with the resort on their website. There’s only one unit in the entire resort, and getting there felt like a little adventure on its own. A buggy brought us as far as it could, and from there, we walked a quiet path surrounded by nature until we reached our private retreat. Exclusively private! The moment we arrived, we knew this stay was going to be special. Greeted by the beautiful infinity pool was WOW! We were here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, and the resort team truly went the extra mile. The staff surprised us with a room beautifully decorated and the room view was breathtaking. But what really touched our hearts was the DIY anniversary cake they prepared for us. One of the team members was so proud of his handiwork, he couldn’t leave without taking a photo of it himself! (Swipe to see photo hehe) We smiled :) because it was such a sweet and genuine moment. The Sanctuary Villa itself felt like a world of its own. Completely secluded, quiet, and incredibly romantic. We soaked in every golden hour… from sunrise to sunset, watching the light dance across the water from our villa deck. It was the kind of calm you don’t realise you’re craving until you have it. Now you know you don’t have to go to Maldives for a resort and view like this too! Hahaha 😝 Around the resort, we also discovered little gems that made our stay even more delightful. There’s a rabbit garden where we could feed adorable bunnies (a hit for both kids and adults!), and bicycles were free to use, so we could leisurely explore the grounds at our own pace. But perhaps the most magical experience of all was waking up early to walk on the sandy seabed during low tide. The water had pulled so far back that we could walk right out into the sea, barefoot on soft sand, with the sun slowly rising behind us. It felt surreal and I spotted crabs too! From start to finish, our 3d2n time in the Sanctuary Villa was unforgettable. The combination of privacy, nature, thoughtful service, and little surprises made it one of the most memorable anniversaries we’ve ever had. #July Travel Support Fund The Residence Bintan – The best vacation completed with a swimming pool, sea, and walk A cup of coffee in the morning while looking at the calm sea. The sea in front of the resort was almost empty, and it was perfect for a walk along the endless horizon. The only sounds you could hear were the sounds of water, wind, and birds, so just walking made my mind feel at ease. In the morning, I took a leisurely swim in the main pool. The wide and quiet pool was enough for both children and adults to enjoy, and the moment I lay on the water and looked up at the sky, I thought, ‘Ah, this is a real vacation.’ At sunset, I walked slowly along the beach. The sunlight sparkled against the waves, the sand was warm and soft, and there was no noise around, only the sea. Just swimming, walking on the sea, and occasionally stopping to feel the wind, that day was more than enough. ‘A trip where you don’t have to go anywhere,’ the few days at The Residence were really like that. #Bintan #Bintan Island

A ferry ride of about an hour and a half from Singapore brings you to Bintan Island, a place that feels slightly removed from the everyday hustle and bustle. After arriving, we took the resort's vehicle, driving through lush forests and along the sea, until we reached The Residence Bintan. The view that greeted us upon arrival was breathtaking: expansive gardens, a path leading to the sea, and a serene atmosphere paired with warm hospitality. As we were guided to our room via buggy, it felt like entering a small, tranquil village. We stayed in a Beachfront Villa. Right in front of the villa was a calm sea, and stepping out the door led directly to a deck with a private pool. Time seemed to flow leisurely here, and we truly understood the meaning of relaxation. The resort staff thoughtfully decorated the bed for our friends, a newlywed couple, adding a touch of charm and care. This small but heartfelt gesture made our stay even more delightful, creating unforgettable memories for all of us. We are deeply grateful for this experience.

I just came back from a 3D2N stay at The Residence Bintan, and it was exactly what I needed to reset mentally and emotionally. The entire experience was calming, thoughtful, and beautifully curated — perfect for a soul-recharging getaway. I stayed in the Upper Garden View Room, which was spacious, quiet, and surrounded by lush greenery. The room was well-kept with a clean and cozy vibe, and I especially enjoyed relaxing on the balcony with the peaceful sounds of nature in the background. During my stay, I joined the Healer Traditional Spa session — a deeply grounding experience that left me feeling renewed. I also took part in a yoga class, which was gentle yet energizing, and joined both the Earth Basket activity and the Farm Tour, which connected me to the resort’s sustainable practices and local culture in a meaningful way. The food was absolutely delicious. I dined at both Rica Rica, the resort’s local cuisine restaurant, and The Dining Room, and every meal was a delight. At Rica Rica, I loved the kerepok (crackers) paired with their signature chili — such a great combination! The Ayam Bakar Penyet was a personal favorite — tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. The breakfast buffet was impressive—diverse, delicious, and to my delight, it even included teh tarik! On the second day, the breakfast setup was elevated with a semi-buffet concept. While a curated à la carte menu was available to ensure freshness and quality. It was a lovely touch that made the morning meal feel more personalised and luxurious. #bintantrip Have stayed in Bintan across several properties (mainly in the Lagoi area) and have to say apart from the location of Residence Bintan, everything else was great especially the food! Extremely impressed with the service and the beachfront villa did not disappoint. If you have the time, strongly recommend to try their spa and ATV activity! Just a note to bring insect repellent as there are certain areas that can get quite a few bites 😁 Huge thanks to the team once again, will be back!

This is the ideal place for those seeking luxury and relaxation.

My sister and I stayed at The Residence Bintan for 3D2N for my birthday celebration last April. We stayed at the Upper Sea View Suite. Everything from that trip was perfect. My only gripe was that we wished we could have stayed longer. The resort's location is secluded perfect for that much needed break from work. This would require 1.5 hrs. of travel from the ferry terminal, we did not mind though as we just slept thru the whole free shuttle ride with free cookies, water, & cold towel. Once arrived, we were just in awe of the breathtaking views everywhere in the resort. Check-in was relatively smooth and easy. A miniscule gripe for me was that we weren't offered the welcome drinks as we step in the lobby and wait for someone to check us in, unlike the other guests that arrived with us. Doesn't really diminish the overall satisfaction with the service and our stay though. Reception staff were very friendly. We were eventually offered the drinks when I walked up to the counter and did the check-in. Our suite was very spacious & beautifully designed. I enjoyed the hammock and the tub. The sunrise and sunset view from the outside deck was very pretty. The suite also comes with 2 bicycles for you to use as the resort is really massive. We did not use it though since we didn't know how to ride bikes haha. Instead, we used the free buggy service a lot of times. There were a lot of complimentary activities but what I really enjoyed was the private beach especially during low tide. View from the pool is crazy! Food and drinks were good. We tried all the dining options available. Breakfast spread was good! We dined at Rica Rica, food was great! 5 stars! We dined at the Dining Room, food was also good. The drinks at the pool bar were also nice, + points for the live music! Rimbun grill buffet was definitely worth it. The setting was very whimsical with fairy lights dining by the sea at night. We also tried the afternoon tea they offered. The staff also delivers fruit and snacks to our suite. Yum! I really want to commend the service. Staff were all smiles and very friendly. My introvert self took a step back and just enjoyed the small talks and greetings from the staff. Had best Valentine’s staycation with The Residence. Their hospitality is 100% as well. The residence located super far from the city (approximately 1hr) so lot of tour guides will want to charge us extra due to distance. So if you want a quiet and far from city without going out for tour, The Residence is the best choice.

We had a great time with the kids at The Residence Bintan. The farm trip was something both the kids enjoyed. The food was good but more on the pricier side. The service was excellent. We were very touched when the hotel staffs remembered the kids' birthday and took alot of effort to decorate our room and surprise us with a birthday cake. Their management also interacted with us and checked up on us to see if everything wad good during our trip. We were heartened to see their staffs and management took the extra effort to wave us all good bye on our last day when our buses were leaving their premises. Highly recommended. Will come again for sure..
