Valley of the Kings and Temple of Queen Hatsheput
We started a packed tour in Luxor with our first stop at Valley of the Kings, The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Amazing to see the detail of the drawings on the walls, it looks a couple of years old, amazing that they've preserved it so well over the years. Tour guides tell the story beforehand because they are not to talk and explain inside the temples, it helps that you know the story when you go in and see the story on the wall. Hasteput was scorching hot we were in and out under 30 minutes. I would say this was least impressive of all the temples we've seen in Luxor.

Valley of the Kings 😍
Okay so Valley of the Kings was BONKERS.
It's a series of tombs carved into a mountain range and all decorated with beautiful hieroglyphics and art. Many of the colours are still near-perfectly preserved. It was really mind blowing
I've only ever watched documentaries and read books about ancient Egypt, imagining what it would be like to see it in person. I still can't believe I did and let me tell you, it was amazing ( To think I stood in a place that was built thousands of years ago, seeing the craft of ancient Egyptians and their way of life. It's a feeling I can't describe

valley of the kings
It takes around 1 hour from the city to valley of the kings, if I don’t remember wrongly. You can sit to the golf car to the valley of kings or you can walk as well. It is up to you. When you reach there, there are many tombs. However, there are no mummies here because all of the mummies is shipped to the museum. There is a tomb, you have to pay extra to access to the tomb. overall, this place is so beautiful.

Wonderful trip to Egypt
Egypt is an amazing place full of many mysteries. The Valley of the Kings is a special place where one can feel the energy of the past and fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere. The place is very hot so it is good to dress appropriately and avoid dark colors. It is appropriate to visit the winter months when temperatures are not very high.#christmasgiveaway #egypt #history

The AMAZING Valley of the Kings
This is one of the most incredible places in Egypt. The Valley of the Kings is where the pharaohs were secretly buried. 😊 There is more than 60 pharaohs buried here in differents caves. The entrance fee is 5 euros and give you the right to enter 3 differents caves at your choices. Some caves are more expansive. It completely worth the visit. There is a restaurant and a bar inside the Valley of the Kings where you can buy a bottle of water if you need. It’s completely amazing. 👏🏻

Valley of the Kings
One of the biggest and best attractions is visiting the valley of kings in Egypt. It’s about an hours drive to the site from Luxor and worth every penny. Just a heads up for anyone that will be enjoying this excursion, the ticket is valid for 3 tombs only, so choose the king that you would absolutely love to witness. We ended up purchasing another ticket at the ticket counter, to see 3 additional tombs and it was worth it. However, it is a long walk and golf cart ride back to the entry gate to purchase the additional tickets. So if you do plan to see more than 3 tombs try to purchase them prior with the excursion company. #valleyofthekings
Luxor 2-day itinerary guide to ancient Thebes, the most exciting city in ancient Egypt
If you ask me the most exciting city in Egypt, I would definitely answer Luxor without hesitation;
If you ask me the city I most want to escape from in Egypt, the answer is also Luxor.
Don't be surprised, Egypt is such a contradictory existence.

🛕"Ancient Thebes, now Luxor"
-
Luxor was once the site of the ancient Egyptian capital Thebes, known as the largest open-air museum on earth, with numerous temples, royal tombs, and statues, and has beautiful scenery of fields, deserts, and rivers, making it the most essential place to explore ancient civilization in Egypt.
-
The numerous attractions also lead to the gathering of merchants and vendors. Before coming here, I saw a friend saying that the people here are like flies. I didn't take it seriously. I didn't expect that they really follow you and keep talking, and it's hard to shake them off. Everyone wants to make some money from you.
In the end, I hurriedly visited and immediately fled the city, and I took a deep breath on the bus leaving~

①The essence of the temples is Habu City and Karnak,
②The essence of the tombs is the Valley of the Kings,
③Hot air balloons are the cheapest in the world and are very worth experiencing.

🔸Valley of the Kings
Must go, the ticket includes three free tombs (600 pounds for adults), and I bought the charged tomb kv9 (180 pounds for adults). I saw 1, 6, 14, 16, one more because there was no one guarding number 1 and I went straight in (very small if someone is guarding it, it is not recommended to see 1)
kv9 is very exciting, the color is well preserved, there are few people watching, and it is highly recommended for taking photos;
kv14 is a double pharaoh tomb, with many unfinished murals, which is quite special.
🔸Habu City
The ticket office is not at the entrance, it is near the Colossi of Memnon, the location is in the comments, the light is very good before the evening, the pigeons are flying all over the sky, it is too beautiful, there are few people, you can take pictures at will, the murals and buildings are all outstanding!
🔸Karnak Temple
A slightly farther temple, the scale is very large, there are not many murals, mainly to see the architecture, it is quite spectacular, there are many tourists.

【Transportation Information】
⛴️The east and west bank ferry tickets are 7 pounds/person, you can ask for change, the boat usually leaves when it is full, it takes 10 minutes to reach the opposite bank, the dock information is in the comments
🚖It is easy to take a taxi on the east bank, you can also try to take a taxi online on the west bank, you can also take a minibus, or negotiate the price on the spot, it is not difficult (use indrive or careem)
-
【Accommodation Suggestions】
🏠Actually, there is no need to worry about whether to live on the east bank or the west bank, each has its own convenience, just choose according to the hotel.
West Bank: The attractions are concentrated on the west bank, the rural scenery is very beautiful, the hot air balloon can get up later, there are fewer dining options, and the hotel is cheaper
East Bank: Ordinary city scenery, more convenient transportation, a variety of dining options, you have to get up early to take a boat to the west bank for a hot air balloon
The Temple of Luxor
Arrived in Luxor on December 9th, some friends went to ride a hot air balloon in the morning, we went to pick them up at 7:10, at the Colossi of Memnon located in the wilderness between the west bank of the Nile and the Valley of the Kings, they were originally the statues in front of the temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Then drove to the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings, is the main tomb area of the Pharaohs and nobles during the 18th to 20th dynasties of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt (approximately from 1539 BC to 1075 BC). Now 62 tombs have been developed. Located on the west bank of the Nile, 7 kilometers from the shore, it can be reached from the steep ring mountain road at the north end of Thebes.
Your trip to Luxor, Egypt can’t be complete without visiting The Valley Of The Kings, where a lot of ancient Egypt kings tombs are discovered starting with Ramses I all the way to TutAnkhAmun. There you can learn a lot about ancient egypt history and curses as well as great wars. You can also visit a lot of other places in Luxor and see great they architectures and temples, the journey to Luxor and to Valley of the kings is worth doing be sure #valleyofthekings

Egyptian Valley Kings
"The Valley of the Kings" is located on the banks of the Nile River, 7 kilometers away from the shore, with more than 60 imperial tombs in total. Huge rock caves were excavated into underground palaces, and the entrances to the tombs were opened halfway up the mountain. This is the final resting place of the pharaohs of Egypt. The walls and ceilings are covered with murals, decorated with gorgeous and exquisite murals, mysterious texts, luxurious tombs, it is unimaginable how wise the ancient Egyptians were more than 3,000 years ago. The pigments have remained so bright and colorful after countless years.
More than 3000 years ago, the east bank of the Nile was a living area, while the west bank was a world of the dead and gods.
This is the Tomb of Rameses II in the Valley of the King's in Luxor, Egypt. Your standard admission ticket let's you visit three standard tombs. This one is suggested as it is well preserved. The colors are incredible. #wintergetaway

The Japanese government made and donated this model of the different tomb locations at the famous, Valley of the King's. It is very interesting because it give perspective as to how deep the tombs are dug inside the ground. Very helpful and Unique it is located right past the security checkpoint. #wintergetaway

You have to pay extra to go in the tomb of Rameses VI at the Valley of the King's near Luxor. It is worth the extra ticket because it is less crowded the condition of the temple is amazing. The colors just pop, even after thousands of years. #wintergetaway

Luxor's Valley of the Kings is perhaps the most interesting commemorative place in Egypt. It is located on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor. On one side is the vibrant city of Luxor, on the other side is the ridiculous valley of the rock, here is the Pharaoh - ancient The last habitat of the Egyptian rulers, with more than 60 pharaoh's tombs built between the 16th and 11th centuries BC.
The Valley of the Kings is divided into the East Valley and the West Valley. Most important tombs are located in the East Valley. There is only one mausoleum in West Valley open to the public: the tomb of Ittute Ay (the successor to Tutankhamun). There are also many other important tombs in West Valley, including Amenhotep III, but they are still not open to the public during the excavation process.
In numerous tombs, the walls and ceilings are covered with beautifully carved murals, and many patterns and hieroglyphs are still very clear. Although it has been thousands of years, the color is still very beautiful, lifelike, as if you are not entering the tomb, but the exquisite art gallery.
The Valley of the Kings buried almost all the emperors of the ancient Egyptian civilization. From the rise of the new dynasty, the establishment of a new center of faith, to the corruption and betrayal of the high priests, the mass graves began to be tombed, and witnessed an era of departure and decline. The Valley of the Kings is not completely open to tourists, because there are so many mysteries here. Many of the tombs are only used for archaeological research. Even so, the open tombs have already made us feel amazed, complicated and preserved murals. As if to pull you back to that era, telling you about the king's great achievements and the beliefs of the times.
In Egypt, in addition to the world-famous pyramids, there is also a place that countless tourists yearn for, that is, the Emperor Valley. It is 700 km south of Cairo and 7 km on the west bank of the Nile. A large desert area across the river from modern cities such as Luxor is the seat of the ancient Egyptian capital, Thebes. The Valley of the Kings is located in an uninhabited limestone gorge not far from the Thebes site. For centuries, the pharaohs laid graves on these cliffs on the west bank of the Nile to house their precious bodies, and there were many huge colonnades and temples. It used to be a majestic tomb group with more than 60 imperial tombs, buried between the 17th Dynasty of Egypt and the 64th Pharaoh during the 20th Dynasty, including Thutmose III and Amenhotep II. The most famous pharaohs, such as Seti I and Ramses II.
The Great Tickets for the Valley of the Kings (100 Egyptian pounds) are only allowed to watch 3 tombs (for protection, see a tomb will make a hole, and when you hit three, you will be void), so it is very important to do your homework in advance. The three tombs recommended by
LP are Ramses I (KV16): the shortest tomb, but the murals are beautiful and the color is new
Thutmosis III (KV34): The tomb is special in structure and needs to climb in and out, murals are early Style, MUT is engraved in the stone, requires a flashlight, and the air is extremely poor.
